    "FOLLOW THE RUN!!!".

Oh I did follow the run - just maybe a little to heavy huh ? Something else I remember was procuring the rams and pumps off of truck lift gates before they made kits for lifts. I just saw a used C-100 sell for $300 at a little shop by me the other day, I think it had like 4 tapes with it. The funny thing about the color bars was that they were the same length as the speedometer and the GP plaque on the right side - one in each rear arm rests ,one in place of the speedo and one in place of the GP -plaque

Dam they ALL sure sound familiar. As I recall FREEDOM was an "arch" chrome plated, Calm, old English plaque. My best memory of the trickest lowrider I ever did was a '65 Impala SS called "Suavesito". I lettered more windows on saturday's at my shop in Van Nuys than Walt Prey did (Gypsy Rose), I also took Paintmasters from Prey cause he couldn't stay away from drugs, but I will give it to the man, he certainly is creative. I also was blessed with getting Gary Baca started in the custom paint world and watched him go to great hieghts! I really miss my Calif brothers. Miss the original GYPSY ROSE, the second one SUCKED!

Everybody in my neighborhood (including myself) went to Cohea's Muffler Shop to get our "shorts" lowered, and for our "twice pipes" and glasspacs. It was the place to go, for sure. I also collect Muntz stuff, like the stereo you have. I was invited to display my Jet on the roof of the Peterson during the showing of "Mad Man Muntz" movie, too. Small world.

  8. I had these in my Lowrider cars almost 40 yrs ago. The Craig is a 4 and 8 track (and feels like it's all of TWENTY pounds). My buddy Dave used to call it the "Rainbow" Craig because of the 4 different color track indicator lights

One and the same my friend. Unfortunately we burned a '57 Olds of theirs at Poly one day. They retaliated by flipping Dickie Funkhousers MOM'S car on it's roof at the "Shoestring" (thanks for the brain fart Groucho), attempted to set it on fire, to many of us lived within shouting distance, kicked their ass (but we REALLY were friends) and later the lil gents pulled the first "drive-by" and shot a customer at the "Shoestring". Some dumb shit. And how did it all start? If you guessed a women you would be right. Mike Ferry was the one that started the UNDERTAKERS and the first to be lost in Nam. God rest his soul, he was my friend from the 3rd grade on. All the members of all the clubs were hardcore fighters and proved it when it came time to serve thier country.

Teach me how to do a PM (private message) and I'll be happy to let you know how to "take care of business". But let me tell you, you best have big balls and be motivated to go the distance. And being "friendly" to the cops is the LAST THING on your mind. I know there are others that think playing along with the powers that be is the way to go and you couldn't be further from the truth. It's not the "street cop" that you need to worry about, it's "OTHERS". Are you gonna raise hell? You frickin bet. Are you gonna get to the city counsel? You will eventually GET AN INVITATION to a counsel meeting. Believe that. Please, for others that are weak of heart and prefer kissing ass, please don't invade on these thoughts. If anybody understands my approuch it would be Big Willie and the late Tomiko. Mark, maybe you ought to start another thread relative to this subject, what do you think Groucho? Is that something that would be permitted? You know me, I have trouble following rules. Yeah Mark, I was a target....................and frickin loved it!! My advantage now is that I am 1200 miles away and to clear my mind I inhale the smell of the ocean and pine tree's till the weekend comes and then it's trick racing fuel and tires!!!!! Yeah, I live in heaven. See how young it's made me!!!lol.

The '65 went to the '74 Winternationals car show with me. Sorry I don't have pic's but it came in second to my coupe for best paint. Bill Carter was PISSED!! I went away with BEST PAINT, BEST USE OF COLOR and BEST EARLY COMPETITION COUPE. I was the first to ever use Alpha-Jewel metalflake (Donated by NICK at SPARKLETS in No. Hollywood) I was also the first that I know of that used the very first Urathane. Hey guys, tell'um what you thought of the "WILD ONE". Did that paint job "POP" or what?? Looked like running water! And the candie's were to die for. Am I right? Soon as I find this Camaro I did that was AWESOME I'll post it. I'm slowly finding more and more photo's from the old days. Gary's brother, Ben, was destined to become one of the worlds finest muralist until his untimly death. I'll post Ben's car in a few days.

Wonder if Bob McClure still owns Fairway, He sponsored my black '64 Galaxie, 427, 425 hp that I bought in Chicago in 1970 and brought back to the valley in '71? Then built a mid engine black '57 Ford sedan called "WE-HAUL", Then came a gorgeous '66 Fairlane called "DARK SHADOW". Dam I've owned some rides!! Sorry, just day dreamin out loud. I'll go back to sleep, you guys just carry on.:(
