And I should have put in different areas of the country or world.

I got into a discussion with one of my running buddys on the going rate for having louvers punched and got wondering what the real rates around the country are. A search didn't provide anything that was close to up to date.

I had mine done so long ago that I paid .75 ea in Bremerton and they were done by the gent who had the pneumatic press that had the huge pipe frame on it. He had a gold/brown A sedan in the late 70/s early 80's. And yes my louvers have that little dimple in the corner from the dies that he had in that press.

$3.00-$3.50 a piece here... deals can be made if you're getting a bunch...

Our Rate at Bear Metal Kustoms in California is $3.00 each. Then theres layout and prep if not done by the customer first. There is alot more involved than you would think if you want it looking good.

Just got my hood back...no setup fee, and $1 a louver. The guy built his own louver press (quite an impressive piece) and has been using it for over 30 years.

In the Twin Cities it seems like the going price is around $3 a piece.

  12. After hearing $2 to $3.50 to $5, I tracked down a guy near me and he agreed to do mine immediately  Cool! I'm on the way! When I got there, the topic turned to price and he replied "Seventy-five cents a hole" Of course dumb*** me said "THAT'S too CHEAP!" so he said "okay, YOU can pay me a dollar a hole"

He punched 1,132 louvers in my hood/tailgate/bedcover for my 66 Chevy truck

Was at a car meet just today, heard $1 a louver quoted. No mention of set up fee. Would appear this guy has been at it a long time from the look of things............... That's a Maryland price.

Its a One off Lemans Racing Jaguar" I told them what i wanted they hung up on me. They only restore million dollar rides. I just want some panels made and I will TIG them in place.

It's a big metalworking tool, usually referred ti as a nibbler. The right dies and all sorts of things can be done.

I believe metalshapes has one. As well as a few others on here. Do search for pullmax and you'll find some threads talking about them.

  23. I charge $2.50 each, no setup/layout fee. Must be bare metal when you bring the part, at least in the area to be punched.

Here in the St. Louis area I get $1.00 a hole and $5.00 set up fee. You must strip hood inside and out where ever you want louvers. Been doing it 30 plus years. Five different sizes 1" 2" 3" 4" & 5" . Also have a small press that punches rod run dash plaques.

I can do them on my Pullmax for you, but there is a guy closer to you that can do you an excellent job. Dutch Combstock is his name. You can get his contact info on the Metal Meet site.

We just went from $2.00 to $2.50 per louver is SW Colorado. No set up fee and both sides of the material to be punched must be bare metal.

I'm just curious why you need bare metal to punch the louvers?
