Not to change the subject, but I noticed you are from Burlington. My parents grew up in Wapello and Burlington was where they hung out. In the 60's my Dad used to drive his Hemi coupe around Burlington quite a bit, I believe. Anyway, sorry to hijack. Back to Iowa car clubs...
Thats cool scooter! Burlington is pretty much dead for cruising besides a few of my buddies here and all the hot head mustang/trans am tools!
I am founding member for the Cruiseamatics from Iowa City. It's an open club but most of the members are into trditional customs and somewhat oddball stock cruisers. Our current club project is a member's Hot Rod style 59 BelAir 2dr sedan There are also the Cl***y Ch***is Cruisers of Iowa City, the Corn Country Cruisers of Washington and I know there is a club in Mount Pleasant (I think they have a cruise night the first Friday if the months at the square). Carmak Riverside, Iowa
Kropdusters are out of NE Missouri, Breeder is one of the founders of the club. There is an Iowa chapter headed up by Lil' John. http://www.kropdusters.com/members.htm is their website. Check out the Rust Revival the last weekend of May in Wayland, MO.
we also have a new member in burlington.......teddy bear.....29 model @, blk, red frame, im sure youve seen it!
Won't help your current search but, there was a club out of Fairfield called the "Saxsons". Anybody else remember them? ____________________________________________________________________ Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, it just ****s and so does OKC"
You mean to say that between the blizzards in Winter, the tornado's in Spring and Summer and the corn and wheat harvest in the Fall, you guys have time for car clubs and cruises. Who knew??
alchemy wrote: WTF, No wheat in Iowa?? You got me! 10 points for you! Actually I've only been thru Iowa once in my life and that was in 1975 on the way to Sturgis. At that time I was more concerned about getting out of the endless heat and rain that plagued the trip, then to notice that there were few other things to be seen, including wheat or the lack there of. All other travels have been thru Missouri or by southern routes on my way West.
haha! theres plenty of wheat in iowa! but mainly its corn and pigs!im only 5 mins from iowa, so i would know, i can smell it!!!!
Quad Cities Cruisers have runs and a big show. I am not a member though. http://www.quadcitiescruisers.org/
QC Cruisers have been establised for "quite awhile. There is also the River Valley Cl***ics , which hold , I think 5 or 6 "Cruise ins" a year. HUGE gathering of all sorts of cars. GREAT CLUB ...... GREAT PEOPLE!!!! They're out of the Quad Cities and hold their "Cruise ins" @North Park Mall "behind Sears. Average attendance 300 to 400 cars.
That smell is probably the byproduct of all the beer and beans consumed in Wayland MO I reckon. I know it happens down here in south MO too. Later, ****
There is the Resurrected Tin Car Club here in Pella, Iowa that I am a member of. We put on the Bologna Nationals on July 10th and 11th.
Aren't Cedar Valley Street Rods out of Waterloo? They do a day at the drags in Earlville every year. Graffiti Niights in Dubuque every Thursday draws a crowd. Once a month the Hot Summer Nights have an open cruise in at Petsmart in Dubuque. When I was younger we had a club we called Hot Summer Knights that was open to anything performance realated and it was one of those guys that got it started again.Hope that gives you a few ideas.
