Event Coverage KC Ararat Swap Meet in April

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Carl E. Hagan Jr., Mar 24, 2009.

  1. Hey guys, Just seen the Ararat is not at the Woodlands this year. The KC Start listed it as being at "435 & Parvin Rd". I'm pretty familiar with that exit, but cant figure what parking lot it's going to be at. Any ideas..... Carl Hagan

I heard that the Woodlands lost their gaming license and closed.

I live like a click away from WOF, actually OFF Parvin, in case someone needs a place to park a trailer, or ditch their car to carpool or something. I have a pretty big driveway and yard.... besides, it's like $7 admission to the swap meet PER CAR LOAD! LOL! :D

As of yet, I'm not even sure if I'll be around that weekend. PM me if interested.

Unfortunately, it's more of a "buy meet"... if swappin' was the name of the game, I'd be in business! LOL!

I was there in the rain last fall. Bought quite a few things. Good weather and swap meets very seldom go hand in hand.

I was at Woodlands last year in spring. Like you said, GOOD weather and swamp meets are NOT synonymous. Just the opposite.

But having our wonderful weather (Not) this weekend, perhaps the gods will bless us with good weather next weekend.

Oh yea, I'm definitely there. I braved the rain last year, and all i got was a cold. Wouldn't miss it.

I really felt shitty I couldn't go - the admission price would've wiper out all the money I had left, which I had to use for gas this week!

I felt better when I saw that you guys with money (the ones I'm terribly envious of) were getting rained on... but the sun came out and I felt like crap again. :(

I just KNOW I'd have found something I've wanted for like 20 years if I went. Of course I would: I was broke! LOL! :D

So folks, what did I miss? Tell me there was nothin' good there!

Biggest problem was parking and access. I ended up parking in the residential area immediately to the North and then walking over.

Like I said folks, if they do it next year, if a bunch of y'all want to park up my yard and carpool over, let me know. I'm like a mile or two away, at Parvin & Chouteau.

And you'd save admission - they charge per CARLOAD of people. And you can always come back for your truck later... LOL!

THIS IS A FUNDRAISER FOR THE SHRINERS. You know, the guys who provide FREE healthcare for kids at their hospitals and give first rate care.......give 'em a break for crying out loud.
