Ive put pricing in the classifieds
If there are other options you guys would like to see please ask

As far as the 700r Its something that could be done in the future
my fear now is that the detent is very critical and if not adjusted properly
can result in a burnt up trans
I like my stuff to be user freindly

Tony: Curious about something: you say 49-55 Cadillacs, well 55 Cadillacs are short tails, not extended bell types like 49-54. In the case of 55-67 Cadillacs, one can just use a 65-67 Th400 out of a Cadillac for a transmission.

I am interested though about your adapter, looks very good. I will PM you about getting on your list. Thanks:D

I know there is a break point in the caddy years somewhere in there,
I had a core motor in the shop couple years ago that the numbers matched 55 for the year, never saw the car it was out of,sorry dont want to mislead

So lets just say Caddys with the extended bell

i used to use olds motor in everything back in the day. we always had the 4 speed hydra/matics then. worked good but weighed a ton. i had a 394 awhile back and kept looking at it in the garage and wondered if a built ford c4 would work. they have a removable bell housing is what made me wonder.
nice work on this though too.
sticks are nice but, it gets a little tiresome rowing gears in bumper to bumper traffic in the big city.

Sounds good, your stuff looks really good. You are going to get alot of interest. I thought there was a company called Tanson out in Cali that does the same kind of thing with Turbo 4's. Dunno if they are for Olds rockets though. Like I said I will PM you about putting me on the list.

One thing I have heard is the turbo 4's are getting harder and harder to get parts for through typical transmission shops. I guess the specialty shops are still maintaining parts for the boxes. I am into the old dual range hydros, but thing the turbos are good boxes too.

    Speak to you soon m8.

  10. You could probably put one of those on a 55-64 Pontiac V8 using the factory adapter, too.

GoatRoper02: did you think about taking the front part of the jetaway as a base instead of a new bellhousing? the jetaway front half unbolts.

    Its not what I wanted.
Because at the end of the day it would have been another rigged together setup[if it would have worked]...I had no interest checking that out or searching for the pieces to graft together.
There is still time and money in that.

My products are not cheap and I dont want someone taking one of them out of a box and thinking that they look that way.
I do purpose built parts with first class quality.

no offense GoatRoper, I think your product is far superior. I was just looking at my tanson application (in envy of course) and saw that the jetaway bellhouse (front piece) may work as a starter so that you don't have to build the new housing and the stock mounts would still work. One of the issues with the 394 was that the motor had a single, center mount, requiring the tranny mounts to stabilize the engine side to side. Keeping the front half of the housing original would satisfy this issue. Just a thought. Wish I had saw your version before I shelled out dough to Tanson. I am still hoping that mine will work when its all mounted.

So Tony, What about the Lucky Taco? Think this would work good in the big race?
I'm afraid one of the cowboys is going to think they are shifting a 4 speed someday and launch into the car behind them.
    How's the new mill coming?

  18. good now noone will be out lookin for top shift lasalles boxes and i can go buy up the rest..:D

Hi tony, Prices look good, If your trying to get a feel for the demand, I'll need the complete set-up. I'll bring you a empty 350 case. Now I need to sell the Ansen Shifters I bought for the hydro. I'll call you about bringing the tranny case out. Thanks for the prices:)

I just installed a complete kit on my 331 caddy and it works perfectly. I installed in one day without any problems.

Tony: Looking at your pics, was wondering if the 56-60 Jetaway flexplate (with the ring gear) would work with your conversion if the 3 holes were drilled and the flexplate (with converter) was rebalanced to the Olds crankshaft?

Also while on the subject, would a typical TH400 converter work? What about a switch pitch 400 with converter and all?

What I am thinking is some of us might want to save a few dollars especially if we have the parts already, such as Jetaway flexplate. I myself might want to do this with my 59 Olds, which already has Jetaway, but would like to go with SP400.

Would it be possible to go the miser route and have just the transmission bell machined off and have the bell adapter without the converter and flexplate?

This might get more attention too. Obviously I am interested in prices too.

Curious if there are any balancing issues, since Oldsmobile engines such as 371 and 394's are externally balanced?
