Fenton Gyro 3 1/2's score

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by swade41, Mar 29, 2009.

  1. Spotted them on C.L. yesterday mixed in with a general add of parts, called right away but said he was doing family things for the day. I patiently waited all freaking day and into this morning, he had said there was one call ahead of me. We met up at 9:00 and I brought them home, he used to race a super stock 68 chevelle and had them for the past quarter century. They even had new 165's mounted on them, I'm stoked to say the least to be able to get a pair of these.

    SCORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta say im not only a fan but a user as well. After i got my 3 1/2's from my brother who didnt want them on his 67 nova , i ran an ad in the local paper wanting some WIDE aluminum slots. Low and behold the first and only call i got to the ad was a fella , told me he had some that were 15x11's , i asked him if they had a name and he said , " yeah , they say GUY-RO " well thats how he pronounced it , said hed take a c note for the pair , i couldnt get there fast enough.

Nice score . I had a cherry set but had to sell them . SUX to have to sell stuff .

  4. I'm going to run them on the bucket for the time being and then off to the secrete gasser project when I get that far. I had to double the price of your rears Mac_55 but thought they were worth it.
I've just got to clean them up now, not sure what to use, I really don't want to polish them per say.

heck yeah they were worth it . I have not seen a set of 3.5's sell for anything under 300 on evilbay.

  6. well not to crap in your cornflakes but I'm not stoked at all. Now if I had those and you had a feather stuck up you.....

Ok good for you my friend. Pretty damned cool score to say the least. Not only rare wheels but rare tires to boot.

Disregard that last question I just read the answer.

pretty damned cool non the less.

  15. Surprised you didn't beat me to the punch on these Andy, the guy had some pretty trick BBC stuff although dated now it would have been top of the line back then. One item was a 750 Holley vaccume secondary with a hand turned thumb knob on the vaccume module that could take up to 3 tenths of a second out of the car. He said they used to do that before they had throttle stops.
