I picked up this 65 from a dude in Oakwood Oh, thanks to some fellow Hambers that pointed me in the right direction, quite literally. Its all a bunch of ideas right now but its fun as hell to drive minus the full turn of slop in the wheel. Now that the good weather is breaking through i can work on the '27 more easily and ill have to find a place to put this damn thing for now.

    Check it out :D

I love the looks of those too, but i would find a way to put some cage tubing under the dash and under the front sheet metal, they suffer from the same problems vdub bus's had, front end crash, and say goodbye to your legs.not fun stopping the car you just hit with your feet. seen a really nice setup one with cage tubing all hidden . very cool looking though. :D

if you do it period correct have to make it a sixties love bus. :) if you don't go that route, what about a vintage parts house delivery bus? I have a kit of a 60's panel truck that was a delivery truck for nappa. i can scan the decals tomorrow if you want.

  6. looks cool! is it a 170?

  7. I didn't know that city ordinances allowed keeping such a vehicle in the city of Oakwood- No wonder he had to get rid of it :)

    Nice score!

I like it, I showed it to my wife and said we should get one of these for the family. She responded "that's gross, looks like a molester van".

Lookee, lookee! No one even pointed out it was a 65 and therefore not HAMB friendly, he didn't even have to lie and say it was a 61-62-63 and everybody loved it anyway.

Ford made many variations of these handy little trucks including a 5-window Pickup version. There are DeLuxe versions with big chrome bands running down the sides too. And doors galore...cargo doors on one side and rear, cargo doors on BOTH sides and rear! And windows too...none or bunches of them. A couple or three different wheelbases and all these combos too!
No V8s from the factory though, only a very rare 240/300 CID truck six in the 67 only, last year of the flat face Econoline.

Everybody loved the era of the custom vans but NO ONE wants to admit it.

...was it hard to clean out the blood and chainsaws and stuff ?
What we're dealing with here is a cl***ic Serial Killer Van. Just tape some tinfoil over the back windows, put on those creepy yellow-tinted sungl***es, and you'll be ready cut a swath of vengeance through the society that done you wrong! Serial killer on board or not, this van looks mean.

Carry a couch around in it and ask unsuspecting young ladies to help you load it. Also don't forget the tape measure to check dimensions on their back skin. Anyways it is a cool van!

These are cool! I had a 64 Falcon Van that I put a Chevy 350 and a 700R4 in, loved it! I sold it on Ebay to a guy in Chicago about 4 years ago, I hope it's still on the road.

This might not be a bad idea, but that precaution wouldnt realy be anymore logical than putting a roll cage on a motor cycle if you think about it,but as the old saying goes (better safe than sorry).

Heres a couple van threads for ya if you havent already seen them.http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=178391&highlight=econoline+madness

    Its not a traditional hotrod

Does the HAMB embrace VANS now??

Don't they have their own websites?
