The irony to the Revell sponsorship deal was that they never released a model kit of the car.

In late 1970, owner Steve Korney replaced the Anglia shell with a 70 Corvette body and took the car on tour with the Stone, Woods and Cook logo embossed on the side

The name Jim Kirby's Chassis denotes a local chassis/engine builder who constructed many a top quality race car here in So-Cal. I got to meet him at a book signing where his west coast gasser book was being debuted. Very entertaining tales were shared. Thats him racing what was once Lil John Lombardo's Vette w/Kirby's own motor. Kirby built the Vette for Lombardo and then bought it back. The Vette served as an early ancestor for the about to be formed blown gas funnycar circuit

My favorite Falcon! Dick Brannan's match-racer with 427 power. Talk about a Falcon "done right."

  10. Dick Brannan will be attending the below event from what I hear.

In conjunction with the FCA National Meet:

    Thunderbolt Owners Association
    45th Anniversary Thunderbolt Reunion
    Hyatt Regency - Dearborn, MI
    June 26 - 27 2009

The Falcon is now owned by Don Snyder of OH.

  11. Great pic of Jocko's 'liner at Riverside. That's a very young Jocko in the yellow T shirt.

I think that the flathead powered dragster in front of the red Ford pickup is the old Cook & Bedwell car...it went to Kansas after Cook and Bedwell sold it...

MCINK Thanks for the pictures! Those are from the good ol days when They ran Nitro at Thunder Valley, the pits didn't look like a KOA and the fence was back where it should be.
