Since everyone is showing their backing plates, I'll start with those. Not too many holes in them though.

    Here are mine:
Alternator brackets from my gasser--I had these on a set of later heads on a 350, but am swapping to a 283 with double humps, so they'll hang on my wall for a while.
Traction bars. Old set of Lakewoods. These will go on my '56 Chevy.
Door hinge straps for my gasser. Probably a total waste of time, but they say every 100 pounds is worth a tenth, so I only need to do this to 95 more parts. The stock straps weigh 2.5 pounds each, and I removed just over a pound from each of the 4 straps; 5 pounds off the front of the car. It'd be stupid to do if I wasn't running fiberglass doors, fenders, hood, no inner fenders and no front bumper. I'm thinking about doing another set, but acid dipping them first. The metal on the back half of the strap is 1/2-inch thick, while the front portion is over 1/4-inch thick. I think for fiberglass doors, I could halve that with acid, and they'd be plenty stout. Shame nobody will ever see these when they're on the car.

here's one i'm working on,will be a tall shifter instead of a short shifter. about six inches higher then stock. still need to make the steel brackets that get welded to part of the original shifter. have a regulation goofy cue ball coming from egay, then i have to drill it and epoxy in a threaded steel insert. some people think it's not strong enough, but i drilled a test one,put it in a vise, and i couldn't bend the thing. that aircraft billet is strong stuff. this was made from a round bar. well the shift arm is done, won't mention car since it's a non hamb car, but ended up cutting off the factory top of the shifter, slotting it and grinding with a sanding belt, then fitting steel in the split halves and welding it in. then it's bolted to the holey part with AN bolts. was fun to weld the steel without melting the counterweight, lots of wet towels on it. still waiting for my goofy cue ball for my shift knob. I took me a couple of evenings, maybe 4-5 hours total, I used greenlee holesaws which are fast and cut clean, I weighed the peices that I drilled out, less than 4 pounds.

HAhaha, awesome! What the heck, 4 pounds is 4 pounds..... Looks cool anyway!

Oh, and I bet you could add a few ounces in just hole-saw shavings.
