Been awhile since I've contributed to the Art Show. Started on a Tiki. Hope it's cool to post an "in progress" shot. I'm contemplating my next "move"...haha.:)
Going to raffle it off this weekend with proceeds going towards MS research, as my wife has MS and is very involved with the annual walk events.
That's my son Mikey, lending a helping hand...haha!

Well, I finally got a Wacomb tablet. I bought an Intuos3 9x12" on eBay and got it for a pretty decent price. The guy couldn't have had it long, cause it came with one of the new software bundles and the box looked like it had never been opened.

Anyways, I couldn't wait to start playing around. Here's the first piece of art I have created using a graphics tablet.

It is just some simple line art, but will be turned into a wallet or something. I have already started on a colored version. I can already tell, that this is going to blow into a really bad habit....

Absolutely fantastic! Good work for a good cause. My best friend lost a baby girl to SMA and remains active supporting SMA and MS fights. Go kick ass.

It just occurred to me that I have art to contribute! My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary a couple of weeks ago. I was really having a hard time coming up with anything material to give her that would have any meaning. Well, a year ago, I surprised her with a tattoo I got while traveling for work. It was a wrench wrapped around a paint brush, based on a painting she had done representing the two of us a few months earlier. She followed suit to get the same tattoo when she came out to Miami to see me last year. Anyways, these are symbols that have become very meaningful between us, so I picked up a few pieces I had laying around the shop and put this together.
I used a spare timing set that I decided not to use and the biggest wrench I could dig out of mothballs. The paintbrush is carved from the handle of a paint roller we used to paint our 1st home a few months after we married and the bristles are silicon bronze filler rods I use once in a while on sheet metal. I know it's kinda sappy and no tremendous display of skill, but it hit the mark. My Baby got all blurry eyed and that makes me happy.

I haven't been around here too much lately, but I just finished the last two paintings for my show (May 29, Corey Helford Gallery, Culver City) and I want to actually do some work on my 29 Sedan, which needs some TLC.

Not too terribly hot rod-related, (but I'm planning a three-panel piece for a show in Amsterdam that will be.) Both of these are 6' x 6' like the previous ones. And, yes, I did paint all those damn dots by hand. Almost sent me to the funny farm, too.

Amazing stuff. I can't figure out how a person can do large murals or works like this and keep the size in perspective. Guess it's all in the planning huh?
Great works from everybody so far. I really dig the Stromberg disc!

Thanks everyone for the kind word on our work, but all the credit goes to the guys who build the subject material they did the real work.

Here are a couple of the shop banners we have made so far for our booth at Roundup they are all roughly 2'x3'
