Really!!! That's cool. Would you let me know if he does? We were at the shop but Dick had retired by that time so after shooting the breeze with the guys at the shop we went over to the house. That's where that pic was taken.

Just working car shows I would hear some odd stuff from time to time. I was working for my uncle selling wiring harnesses and electrical components at shows, that's it....

Random Guy: "Hey, do you have a bumper for a '56 Chevy."

    Me: "Ummm.... nope"

Random Guy: "Ok, thanks." and would move along.

It probably didn't help we were usually setup next to Yogi's at Back to 50s in St. Paul, but I would questions like that all day long. I guess it's easier to ask every vendor for what you're looking for, to see if they have it or know someone that does. I always wonder if they asked the food vendors that too

  4. Yes, I will let you know if I see it. Im almost positive he does have it up.

Being that you hang out there I imagine you'll recognize this truck also, with the Hambs very own Santa standing there.
I just had a thought. KidDean doesn't have that picture displayed because he thinks Dick chopped it does he? If so tell him he's mistaken. A friend and I did that car, chopping it back in the winter of 93/94 and Dick never saw the car until I was out there in 05

Oooohhhhhh. One of my favorites. It was on MTV none the less,on Pimp my Ride featuring Travis Barker showing off the Cadillac he named "Gloria" that he had custom built for himself, you know, the one where the windows never worked.Yeah,I use to like and get along with Travis, until I heard him tell that fucking lie on national TV.We all know that car was built by John D'Agostino, and the windows worked when Travis bought it,and they do fit, even though he says they don't fit right.I hate liars.

Next time you see him. Tell him the guy from Mi that always wears a black western style hat says Hi. I bought stuff from him back in the early 90's when he was just starting in the car wiring business. Your aunt knows who I am by sight also.

How can you find fault with a guy asking EVERYONE he meets?

The best advice I ever heard is to "ask everyone you meet, including children and old ladies"

I heard a guy say one time that he came up on a wreak ,and the tow truck guy had his roll-back tilted back fixing to load a car.just then out of nowhere this guy comes by in an ol chevy truck and jumps the wreak, using the roll-back as his ramp...the good part was the guy also said that when he was in the air,he yelled out the window(wooooo!!!) and held out the "peace sign"
with his two fingers!....i love a good one like that...

I ran into a guy at the bar one night at the hotel our race team was staying at, He told me he worked for OUR race team! ( I had not told him I was on a team) Should have seen the look on his face when he was walking through the pits the next day and saw me putting a clutch in the T/F car!! PRICELESS!

  19. OK, so it was my turn. I show up to the local cruise in my '66 Studebaker Daytona, a rather uncommon car. It's been dechromed, no badges or emblems. Mr. Know-It-All walks up and asks me what it is so I tell him. He insists that it couldn't be; Studebaker went out of business in '64. In the U.S, I replied. This was built in Canada. Not so, he argues - it's a Canadian Valiant. This goes on for several minutes until I conceed - "you got me - it's a '66 Lexus." "Really?" "yep, Canadian prototype." "I knew it wasn't a Studebaker!"

Stude owners hear it all - they came with 289 Ford engines, Corvette engines, Mopar stuff.

Way back in the late 60's a buddy of mine sold his '34 Ford tudor to a guy in Wisc. The car was very recognizable due to the two-tone orange & white interior. A few months later the Minneapolis Car Show was coming up and a friend in Wisc sends me this newspaper clipping about how "Mr. So and So was going to enter his home built '34 Ford in the Mpls Show" The story went on to tell about how this fellow spent months building the car in his garage and now he was going to debut the car at the show. This is the same car my friend sold to him. He didn't change a thing.
It's show time and the dude has the car on display. I walked up to him and asked a lot of questions about the car. He proudly bragged on how he had spent months building the car in his garage. I then called over the original builder of the car who just happened to be walking by, and said "Hey Bill, this guy built a perfect replica of your old '34." The look on the "builder's" face was priceless. Talk about embarrassed.
I can't stand someone who takes credit for someone else's hard work.

Why is it that most every cool hot rod was either a pristine 0 rust ever or rusted up to the drip rails? Doesn't anybody ever start with a half ass body?

that dude from blink 182 is so clue less
the statement he makes on that video is so assinine..proves his ignorance.
and the fact that all he had to do with the building of that car was to fork over the money (and thats fine, if he would talk like that, but he doesnt)
He states that they chopped the top 2"..but the windows dont fit
seems to me if you chopped the top 2" you would have about 2" extra glass to fill the hole..so WTF is he talking about anyways?
but i like how the interviewer keeps saying "you had this done" as to keep it on track with reality
