Event Coverage 2009 Rumble... 411 Dragstrip

The Rat Rod Rumble (forget the name) is coming up on April 24th at 411 dragsrip in Seymour, Tn. 5 bands, dragstrip racing, show, and camping all weekend. This show is always a blast and should be even better this year with an all weekend show.

We are going to convoy from Ooltewah on friday morning. Anyone interested in meeting up and making the beautiful trip up 411 hwy. is welcome. Let me know if you are coming and we will get you details.

From what I heard... The racing will start on saturday morning. I think Friday will be a getting ready day. By the way. The No Trailer Queen thing is for the Billet Show Queens. This is a drag strip show by the way. So not everything will be road worthy. Mine won't.

This is not my show, but we have had a ton of FUN.

We'll be there, looking forward to it. Got a big Poorboy coravan coming down early Saturday, and I think a couple of our guys will be up there Friday.

I have several questions. How long 1/8 or 1/4? How much shut down area. Ambulance on site? Do you have insurance for the racing perticipants and for the show specators. The reason many years ago I got carried to court because of a non insured track. The car I was racing against blew a harmonic ballancer and hit a specator. How hard is the check on saftey equipment? Are helmet and drivers suit required? Fire ext? Thanks Bobby..One last thing how many cars does a club need to have partipating to get club race tropht?? Thanks again looking forward to particapting..

 

We (The Rod Barons) may be there. Can we camp or stay over night at the track?

 

Some more. cut off date of model year of drag car. Chassis rule? Power additives allowed?? Fuel avaiable at track? Motor Cycles?? if so year cut off.

 

you only need 3 cars to run in a club for the fastest club. last 2 years i was there I had to run guys in my own club, talkin bout messed up. i prob wont be in that race in this event. I like the show it jus has a few bugs to work out. like most shows do.

How far is that from Memphis? I'm going to be in Memphis that week.

K9... What are you planning on bringing, a Top Fuel car? Come on... it's an 1/8th mile track that has been racing since the '60's. It's rough and short. If you need a shut down area then you are probably bringing the wrong car. This is another Hot Rod show that ALSO has a dragstrip in the background. Any kind of real HP is not EVER gonna hook on this track anyway, so I'd probably leave the Fuel Car at home and bring the Hot Rod. Outside of a Full blown drag car... Bring it on.

It will be a fun weekend. Bring your tent and cooler.

This is a great event, despite the name. I haven't missed it since i started going 3 yrs ago. Any and all within 3-4 hrs should make the trip. I'll be there with my 63' comet. Come and race, you won't be disappointed.

 

This sounds like a fun weekend! I plan on coming in late friday, are there any hotels near the track? what kind of car inspections will i have to pass?

 

There should be some motel rooms left in Maryville, Tn. Just Google 411 Speedway and you will find something. Just bring your tent and you won't miss out on the fun.

Our TN chapter of the poor boys is heading out 5AM from Lebanon and we'll plan to arrive around 9:30, so look us up and say hey. We are gassed about this show!! Look forward to burning some gas and rubber!
