Always loved the old black and white photos of custom cars, but liked this
more because it's a Barris Kustom photo showing who really did the work.

So if I were to hire a couple guys to sand my car that means I had nothing to do with the build? Look at the name on the building "Barris Kustoms" that is probably the people that designed, laid out, and pulled all the stuff together to make it a cool kustom. Now maybe those guys that are doing the sanding went on to their own fame???? Well maybe?

Sam's the guy on the deck lid.
I don't recognize the car by the tail light treatment. Anybody know?

I think it's Frank Sognozi's(sp). I think His had 54 ford tail lights or something similar molded like that.

Hmm, I didn't think it was that car because in the sanding photo, it looks like the body line goes all the way back to the top of the tail light area, but I recon you're right.

If I had a positive cash flow,I'd dump my '61 in a heartbeat and get a more "traditional" ride....

  22. Man there plenty of ways to make a 61 a real "traditional ride". Just do your 61 the way they were customizing them back in 1961 then you have a period correct early 60s custom and in my opinion that is very "traditional"

I don't care what anyone says, George Barris is one of my heroes. Regardless of his eccentric ways, he contributed one hell of a lot to the art of customizing, especially in a time when customs were basically dead.-MIKE
