Well good news on my end, I finally got my flight today. For the last couple of months I've been checking daily and the cost of the flight from Detroit to Austin was more then I was willing to pay....way more then twice what it cost to fly to SoCal in January and Austin is half the distance! So, been waiting for the prices to come down.... and waiting...and checking daily.

Even tried the buddy pass thing with a girlfriend that works for NWA but the flights were so booked that I didn't want to take the chance of flying standby and the possibility of not getting back to work on Monday therefore screwing up time off for another event. With as booked as flights are it's hard to imagine this country is in a "recession".

The price came down alittle yesterday and alittle more today. Still more then I wanted to pay BUT it's not a show I was willing to miss so I bit the bullet and bought my ticket just now.

So, it's official, I'll see you guys in a couple of weeks!

I'll be getting there Thursday night so I can hit the show bright and early on Friday.Just was wondering if anything else would be going on that day so I could make my rounds because I got to head out on Saturday around noon to make it back in time for my son's prom.His mom and girlfriend want him back in time....

Well that is damn good news. Last year I assume it was him, who was causing all the hell. I look forward to it this year, what kinda brew does everyone enjoy??

Oh yeah I'll be going solo this year, The wife and kids are too busy to make it. I was lookin forward to some time with the wifey too. oh well. A few buddies from austin, CC, and SA will hopefully bless me with their company as well.

 

I will definitely be there! My daughter lives in Dallas, visiting with her for a few days. I will be scooting down Friday morning early for the weekend festivities in my " ford focus or equal " rental sled. I will be heading back to Dallas Sunday afternoon. If any Dallas area HAMBERS need a lift ' I've got an open seat. PM me before the 15th.

 

Alas, I'm going to have to bail. Just not enough dollars available. We've been helping my daughter after she lost her job last fall - now that she's working again, getting back on her feet - my wife has lost her job...crap.
