It's setting in the driveway right now! Starts, runs, stops, steers, drove it all of 200 yards from the shop to the house. It felt great! I guess it's done...
Thanks guys, it was the best drive I've made since getting back from California! Yeah, right! Maybe with some junk tires, but not 250 dollar apiece Cokers.... I just tallied up my remaing Hot Rod Fund and Paypal account money, I have just about enough to get the exhaust done, not enough for that and the piecrust slicks I wanted to get. Perhaps my salvage yard owner buddy will come up with a never ending supply of 15" radials for the burnout videos, which, it certainly has the potential to do... .
Cool! Congrats! Are you gonna drive it as is for the summer, or are you going to try to get it painted?
Thanks guys. Yes, it's definately getting painted before it's driven, hopefully by the end of May. I have a little finessing to do on the body before it's ready for paint. Mostly just more primer filler and blocking, but simple is hard. The tires are 7.20x16's on the back of 5" rims, and 5.00x16's up front, on 4" rims. All Cokers, the fronts are cycle tires, WW's on both sides.
Brian, its looking great! I have been following along the whole time and have enjoyed it. Finally a nice day to go for a drive Can't wait to see it painted.
Here's (I hope) a link to the maiden voyage, www.youtube.com/watch?V=/4yOwjY6 Oh ****, I still didn't do that right, so to see it, search for: " '36 Roadster out of the garage"
So you drove out ,dissapeared behind the house and went of into the sunset. Right ? Enjoyed all the build threads. Thanks.
Great build and engine choice. Really old school hot rod and I know the first fire up thrill and coupled with the 200 yard distance drive your old ticker had to be pounding like hell!
Cool... and it looks even better in motion! That should be a blast to drive... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4yOwjY6KQPs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4yOwjY6KQPs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Malcolm
