Hey Boxrod, thanks for all the pics!!! I absolutely got a kick out of your tags for the thread.... apparantly i'm the only one that noticed while so many are digging through finding every little thing to bitch about.... on the HAMB??? imagine that!!!

 

The blue 36 is axels,he organizes the GNRS and has alot to do with viva car show as he is in the shifters which is the club that hosts the car show. That abortion of a vehicle blowing black smoke is just a huge waste of time ,space and iron.I went last time and it seems that the show looked shittier this year,are we witnessing its demise?Has it ran its course?

 

photos were neat i looked at alot of them. i would no doubt go to that show if it were near me. but i do spy a ton of 350s and posers!

 

Looked at about half of the pics.........spare me any more of the shitty metalflake over horrible body work.....at least most of the worst cars on the planet were all in one spot at one time............from what I saw, a few nice cars but up close they were just someone else's covered up shit.

Worst thing is she was probably ok looking before the tats! That ridiculous blond skank with the beach balls stuck to her chest is just as wrong!

I remember a couple years back they were going to cancel the show all together. Too much drama, too many ratrods. I thought the consensus was that the cars were going to be screened before being allowed to enter the show. If your car was a hunk of shit, you just had to park it in the next lot.

And WTF is up with the tattoo on the forehead? That's gotta be the side-effect of a bad night doing smack or something.

 

Thanks for all the pics! I've been wanting to go for a few years now, but I think I'll save the money instead. Lots of really nice cars ... and more clown cars. Lot's of "hey look at me" chicks in the photos. It looks like the general public has caught on to the show and that's when things generally start to move from subculture to mainstream. It seems that Joe Public always has a way of reinterpreting an idea and creating a fuzzy photocopy of it. I imagine putting on a show is a lot of hard work and I applaud the fact that it exists at all. In all fairness, I wasn't there - I'm just looking at someone's photos over the internet.

 

i agree ! i saw the first pic and thought wow a diesel ,then i saw the second pic and thought now i know why raincoats should be yellow !!!

that car belongs to a lovely young gal, a burlesque performer that lives right here in vegas. and no, she doesn't have cottage cheese ass like some of the ladies in boxrod's photos either, haha!
the car was "overhauled" on the tv show overhaulin, and of all the overhaulin cars i've seen in person, this one is actually one of the nicest. it was done well.
her husband is forever cool in my book because he was the one that submitted her car to overhaulin for consideration.

no, for every stoopid crap rod that you see in the pictures, there were 100 clean, nicely done cars, and for every orca betty chick you see in the pictures, there were a dozen genuinely pretty girls.
boxrod said it himself, he walked right by the cars that looked somewhat "normal" or stock. they aren't that photo worthy, but that's not to say if you were there, you wouldn't stop and check them out.
i did.
actually, i walked by all the goofy rods and stopped and looked at the really nice stuff.
all told, there were almost 1,000 cars there.

oh, and the truly pretty girls at the show were with their cars or with their fellas that had cars there, they weren't struttin' around trying way too hard to get attention.

all the good ones really are taken.

 

I obviously missed that episode because it must have came after I stopped watching the show because Jason Priestly obviously used his inside contacts while doing the voice for "Rides" to get his buddy Ian Ziering's car overhauled.

It is a really nice car. I found some pics online of it before, during and after. Now I'll try and find just that episode somewhere to watch it.

It did have the biggest crowd round it all day. I bet the thing hauls ass with that motor in it. It's like a train wreck, most people just can't look away. The belching black smoke was rediculous though

You are a walking contradiction. In one breath you say that traditional rod/kustom are ratrods. In another you prefer a Paso like show. But you took pictures of a lot of crap. Not traditional hot rods or customs but out and out crap. That's what ratrods are, crap. I can't wait to see some of the other pics show up, there is always some good stuff at Viva. But there always seems to be this point of view, it's like you shoot for OSR or something. I see their coverage for shows and can't think they were at the same show as I was. And I don't understand why you seem peeved that the good looking girls aren't attention whores.

 

Did they have mini truck parking this year?
