Event Coverage Viva Las Vegas 2009 pics

Okay,I don't want to start some e-fight,or get this thread shut down,so I'll start by saying that it looked to be a fun and great show and I saw quite a few people i knew and their rides in the picts.

Here's my complaint,or rant if you will,and it has nothing to do with the show,but rather the whiner's here whining about the quality of cars and people at the show.If you didn't go or take your car,don't bitch and moan.If you want better quality,throw your own show or take you car to Viva to "Up the quality".Bitching and whining on the internet about a show you didn't even attend about people you don't even know makes you look like a bunch of petty high school gossip girls.I though the whole idea of taking your car to a car show is to show off what you've accomplished if you're a builder,and check other people's cars out for future ideas of what to do and what not to do.No one is forcing you to look at the pics of the show or the cars you don't like,so no reason to comment on them.

I remember when going to car shows was a fun past time,but with the attitudes I see on here and the one's that carry over to car shows,well,pretty much kills the fun factor for me and many other people.

Okay,rant over,now you can go back to the pictures.I saw one '63 Cadillac coupe that had a flame job that gave me some ideas.It'll be a while before i go to body and paint as I'm gathering parts to replace some of the mismatched trim and such,but i have a final idea in my head.Can't wait until Viva next year,my Cadillac should be done by then.

 

Muttley that hoof head comment was genious,it really looks like a hoof.I have been to viva a few times its was alot of fun,but there are two aspects,the culture and the car show.I go for the show and some of the old school bands.The car show is suffering at the moment from bad builds,people with the wrong idea about the custom or the hot rod.The show really needs strictor guidelines to be enforced with the quality ,or it will lose alot of people down the road.Ink and iron festival makes you send a photo on registration,could viva do this, to up the quality?

One question....What the F**k was that jack-ass thinking when he built the upright bass grille shell??? Once again...I will be glad when we can look back in a few years and laugh at the whole rat rod craze because it really really really sucks bad!

That caddy has awesome lines and is going to be a killer custom if done ,or will he/she leave the patina as is,because to some thats cool and paint really isnt cool,peoples thoughts?

I will go to this show someday. I am not into the rat rod style, but i like alot of the culture(bands,tatoos,chicks,etc). I'm sure there is a lot more nice hot rods, and customs there that we are not getting to see in the photos. Love em, or hate em rat rods always have a bunch of people checking them out. This guy has to have something going on, runnin with hot chicks like that.

 

I'd like to see some pics of the good stuff. I don't blame anyone for expressing their distaste. This show has a big reputation... that bunch of photos hopefully doesn't represent the show well. I was thinking about setting plans for next year, now I'm unsure.

So, let's see the good stuff. By the way, I LOVE Axles 3-window.

This Caddy was so bitchin'!!! A lot of fucking whiners on here who didn't even attend the show... There was plenty of great cars at the show, why is there a need to generalize because of a handful Rat Rods. There is way too many haters on here. Viva is a fun show and not one to be compared to anything else. It's a culture show, it's a car show, it's a convention, it's a fucking good time with people from all over the world who get to hang out for a few days once a year, give em' a break and stop bitching about what people look like or the style cars they drive. this car thing would suck if we all had pretty perfect shiny cars, LIVE AND LET LIVE MAN!!

I cant wait to have my car there next year!!

Actually, I'm very interested in the topic. The reason? I live two days drive away, and I've always wanted to go. But after seeing these pics, I was shocked and was wondering to myself, is it just the cars/people this guy took pics of, or was the whole show like this? I had written this one off my list until some people started posting more info. I'm not into bashing people's cars or sense of style, but I found this useful in determining future travel plans.
