Ran across an add on CL this AM for 40's, 50's and 60's auto parts so I called on it and went to check it out. Its an old wrecking yard just outside of Springtown, Tx and everything is for sale and reasonable. Took way too many pics to post but here's a link to the photobucket album where I posted them. If you see anything you need, PM me. Its only about 8 miles from my house.
Heres a link to the album

I thought this was a cool use of a VW body. Stack American iron on top of it to keep the good stuff from rusting from the ground up.

How are the front fenders on that 52 or 53 ford Pickem up truck? If they are in good shape whats the asking price for them?

Did you happen to get a picture of the roofless Buick from the back? I'm looking for a decent rear bumper guard for one of those, me and my dad are doing a '52 together and ours is crap.

I also would like to find a couple good red tail light lenses, center trunk bar, and rear quarter pot metal spears for my '59 Edsel if they were in good shape (not super pitted like mine).

Are you planning to go back there? Any chance I can con you into checking out those things? Did you buy anything while you were there?

  9. Cool pics. It looks like a good mix of project cars.

    Are you going after anything?

cool place! I could use the chrome windshield trim on the red 51 52 ford truck (the one missing hood) also fenders look good??? maybe could use them...

I didn't notice any roof/windshield visors but am looking for one to either use or adapt to my 51 ford truck, did you happen to see any visors? pics?

whats he got in the sheds and school bus??
    Thanks

    Josh

If this one has a 3 speed on the column and manual steering I'd be interested in the column, steering box and Pitnam arm.

This '56 Chevy looks very buildable, or would at least make a great donor car to convert a 55-57 Chevy 4 door sedan. Surprised to see it in a yard with it's doors intact. EDIT Are these even the same car? Is there a 55 and a 56 in this yard? Big time score there I would say.

The front licence plate guard on this Chevy would be a good piece to snag and sell in the HAMB classifieds, there's always someone looking for one of these. The bigger front and rear bumper guards on this car would be good items to put on eBay or on Chevybombs.com, there are a lot of lowrider guys who like these accessory guards for their bombs.

With a few bucks of investment cash you could make some good money buying and selling parts out of this yard.

All of us sitting here in the rusty North are drooling !!!! Great find.
How much for the 2 door Ford wagon?
    Any mopars in that yard?
    Thanks for the great pics.

  20. The '55 Ford Club Sedan and the '52 Ford Ranch Wagon both look like good builder cars, as do the two Studebakers, all look too good to part out. Lots of solid '50s and '60s truck cabs. Did Buick make a 4 door convertible or did somebody decapitate a sedan?

  21. Lotta stuff in there. If nothing else a gold mine of parts >>>>.

  23. Is this a 2 door Kaiser (can't tell the way the sun hits it)?

The Kaiser guys will kill for those!

I'll take a closer look at the buick and edsel tomorrow.

I got an auto column shifter off of a 54 Belair. Its going in my 50 sedan delivery/401 nailhead/sp400, scored a gas filler neck my delivery was missing, got 4 hood bolts, going back tomorrow for some bendix brake hardware and backing plates.

I'll see what I can find, No parts in the busses, I was dissapointed.

I'll check it out for ya

I'll get you a price on the wagon. Several mopars, mostly late 60's and early 70's I think

It was decapitated. Hopefully to fix another car and not just a amateur hack job gone bad.
