I made a driveshaft for my 32 chevy but it I either did not get it right or it needs balancing. Anyone know of a good driveline shop in the south metro in Minnesota? Ive called around without much luck. Thanks Jason

I have been away for a while, but I used Clutch and U Joint on 41st and Hiawatha. Are they still there?

Ive shortened about 10 of my own driveshafts and never had to have one balanced yet, maybe im lucky, i dont know, i know it kinda of one of those taboo topics, shortening your own driveshaft!

I have better luck doing it myself, i had one shortened and balanced long ago and it was ****ed up, i made a new one myself and its still working fine 7 years later.

Well I always made mine too, but I noticed this one moves up and down slightly when I spin it. At freeway speeds it vibrates badly. Now the seal on my axle has started to leak. Figured Id bring it in an see what they say. I looked up catco and noticed theres one in newport. I will head up there. I dont want to go to burnsville unless I have to, way to busy there. Thanks everyone.

When I had one done 7-8 years ago at Clutch and U-Joint the guy wouldn't balance it for me, he said most of the time they are fine and if it needed balancing it still would cost the same if I brought it back for balancing. Never had it balanced, never needed to.

  10. i hope you called them before you left...i'm not sure if EVERY location does driveshafts , i don't know about Newport , they may send it over to Burnsville. i know Burnsville and Rochester do

and yes , i have cut many of them myself with no problems without balancing when i had access to a bigger lathe. if i had a steady rest for my Logan i would still be doing them
