Stop reminding me!! I've only been twice, in 1993 and 2002. Hopefully I can get back there next year, once I get the Essex set up a bit better for long hauls. Until then I have to make due looking at all the picture posts by HAMBers who made it.
Will be there. Was hoping to have my project done to drive.Dont look like that will happen as its still a pile of parts in my garage.Smaller crowd would be better.Burl
The first time I went it was about 6000 entrants. People could actually cruise their cars. We stood on a street corner and watched a steady line of cars approach, stop and drive off, and in two hours only saw the same car about 6 times. The rest were all different. Last year I aksed a man in a blowen Willys how it felt to be passed by a diabetic old man with a heart condition who's on foot. Ya the crowds are that bad but I'll be there again on Dan Patch Ave.
I've missed one since 91. Dont plan on missing it this year. Hopefully the Stude will be off the jackstands by then
This will be my 5th or 6th year. It's the one car show event I look forward to the most every year. I'm pushing to get my 31 done by then. It'll be next to a dark silver 30 Essex, and 32 pickup. Can't wait!
It has gotten pretty crowded. It's still an amazing automotive spectacle. I'm ready. It's such a great place to have it. Some of the smaller shows in the area are like Delano have that feel just smaller.
i've been there the last 3 years, this year is going to my bachelor party, so its sure to be the best one yet! if anyone wants to donate beer, right now i am accepting Schlitz, PBR, Grain Belt, Hamm's, Old Style, and High Life. Thanks in advance!
I will be there this year and hopefully with my Dad. He is in Tiawan working. Haven't been there in a couple of years. Matt
Im MSRA# 47...Ive been to every one , every one has its own flavor and you see something or somebody...its the best and right here in MN..its really sad that it is the one event that brings everybody out but all the other great events MSRA hosts are hardly participated in, in comparison. IT kicks every other street rod events ass, throughout the country...over 11000 cars that rolled in and out of the gatren on there own power...11000 cars but how many participants ,vendors, and gate...if your reading this and your from any other part of the country and you dont know about this event, it is the equivelent of Sturgis for the bikers...its the best, get here for it, you wont be sorry....The fairgrounds is the best site too, trees, grass, buildings....better than down south where they put you in a plowed field...be there or dont even call yourself a car guy !
Talk about nirvana...we used to smoke a big joint and drink about 6 beers and walk down dan patch on Sat afternoon...now that is Nirvana...in the sun...looking at the rides....looking at the girls....looking...all these years later and even straight, its still sometimes takes my breath away...
Been going for many years, only started driving into the show last year. Will be there with my overheating 59 Thunderchicken Ford again. There is no experience like driving into that show and I would dare say it is one of my favorite weekends of the year. Next year I will be driving in with my 32 Ford Roadster when it is done. Giddee-up!!
Off topic a little I purchased a car last year that had a MSMA decal from 1988 in the window this post reminded me of it
Phastwilliam is right. He beats me on the number. I'm the kid who used to tag along with him #204. Friday is my favorite day, as it beats the weekend crowds. The swap on sunday am is huge. Look for my 53' Olds...It was at the first one and returns this year. http://turbostude.com/Elsie
i'v been to all but a couple--i just received my pre regsitration # i'm in the mid 5k range i think it's like 5780 already registered--my first one there were about 300 total cars registered!! i think that was # 3
this will be my 2nd 50's show weather will be the deciding factor in what i drive, last year no rain and took the roadster, was great this old disabled person sure bought a heavy object to carry out of the swap, but it was early in the morning, that was the onley day that I drove around no trafic when the chickens get up
