That Hudson is way bad ass!
Heres kinda what i'm doin Keepin the 54 trim around the vent as it fills the space and installing the drip rail trim. I am thinking of rounding the bottom corners of the windshield? Not sure though. I figure you used the earlier window opening but took the peak out of it? And used the earlier trim? But used the 54 glass installed from the inside like the earlier cars?

This one started life as a long wheelbase 1948 4 door sedan.
The peak on the roof was removed and a new section was made, the same was done on the bottom.
I made a pattern and had a custom made screens produced. The screen is fitted from the inside like all pre 54 models.
The original trim around the screen was reshaped and slightly modified, all the belt line mouldings were modified from available 4 door versions or hand made. All the lower side mouldings were also custom made in stainless or cast in brass and plated.

Dave, how long have you owned your Hudson, as it looks like one we saw at Paso in the late 90's when we were there.

I've owned it about 10 + years it used to be the torqous color with the cream top. It got rear ended basically a total going to Paso in 2002 I straightened the frame then parked it until recently. I did collect from the insurance though:D Its probably the same car that you saw? I love you car its crazy how much work you did very impressive. Dave
Oh my avatar picture is of the car on the lawn in paso!

It must have been yours, its the only one with that colour combination I have seen there.

The Hudson belongs to one of my customers.

The drip rail stops and that's it! Unless someone has a good Idea? Heres some pics of the stock trim and one I cut down. I dont care for either so the drip rail itself gets a stainless cover and some belt line trim thats it. I kinda dont know what else to do with it. LTR Dave

I vote for the '56 Olds. Looks to me like it just fits in nicer with the grill treatment. Not too crowded. Car looks great. I think you have driven the value of Hudsons up a couple notches by showing how good they can look when done right. Nice Job.

All right there is how many people on here? Only three opinions on the headlight rings. Looks like the olds headlight rings it is! Since I have A.D.D. and cant seem to finish anything unless I start something first. I started installing a 56 olds dash and hanging the Mustache on the car. The car is becoming an Oldson I guess!

One vote for Buick lights here. Need something to fill what would be dead space between the light and the grille top.

I´d bring the rib down the centre of the hood to a peak too, rather than have it splay out like it does now.

    Very cool project. Mad skills.

I vote for either french the stock Wasp headlights or get a set of 54 Hudson rings. Either way you are on your way to having a beautiful Hudson. What are you going to do for taillights?

I am apparently a less is more guy. I think that this looks perfect other than I would loose at lease one set of the bumperettes. Love the car, though. Hudsons rule!

Just imagine looking in your rear view mirror and seeing that evil looking front end coming at ya .Man you took a really cool looking art deco car and improved it 10 times over. WOW I like it. I personally think the left headlight looks like it belongs there.Either way you got a kick ass ride.
