Update My Gas station is closed and progress is slow but, I flaked the dash and fire wall and will be doing the jambs and roof next, also I rigged up the blower drive and should fire the motor soon, and I've also gathered up the brake parts, so hopefully The Sonic Neddle will move around soon. Sorry to hear you had to use a plastic windshield. The metal has to be cut to fit the glass.
Project is looking great, a very clever and welldone piece.

Liked it so much I had to build a model off of your design, I used the Msterion engines, tail light panel and frame along with the nose from the Beatnik Bandit on it. Kool stuff ya got there!!!

 

About 100 years ago, I remember there was one like that in R & C coverage of a model contest somewhere. I liked it then and still like the idea.

Man talk about bad visions from reading a thread title , At first thought my mind couldnt fathom what a hunk this thing would look like . After seeing pics, all i can say is DAMNNNN. That fricken thing is sweet on so many different levels it aint funny . Buddy that right there is what you call Vision at its best. Im speechless dude , that thing is drop dead bad ass and look samazing . There is only one way i can think of to make a fenderless hot rod elcamino look good , and you NAILED it pal.

 

What do you mean "go ahead cut up a Ranchero"? Noone touches my Ranchero unless they want "huevos rancheros, lol".

 

So i clicked on this expecting to see and epic fail. But this is one of my favorites by far...never woulda saw it coming

 

Only way to keep a glass one in this car would have been to use a center divider or maybe butt the halves together - it's narrowed down the middle. Or spend like $3000+ to have one custom made.

You got me "gigglin" and "droolin" with anticapation of more pic's and the final product. NEVER stop doin' what YOU do. I DIG IT MAN!!!! Shows that in this day of cookie cutter Hot Rods someone is using their imagination!! Again KILLA TRUCK Doc!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Isn't this what hotrodding is suppose to be? You take a brain fart and hit it with a cutting torch,pick up the pieces and toss them in the air and on the way down hit them with the welder and there ya go. This is one of the most unique projects I have seen lately. Don't stop,keep it going cause its one neat hotrod.

 

When I hit my brain farts with a torch, there's just a bright blue flash, then they're gone.
I've been following this since the first post, and I don't think it was quite that easy.
Great Job Doc, anxiously awaiting more pics, flake should be right at home on this one.

Great thread. I've read thru this, and must have missed why the w/s didn't end up getting narrowed with a divider, in favor of Lexan. What happened?

As an aside, I'm using a Lexan w/s in my roadster, in the narrowed MGB frame, only because I've run out of money and have a half sheet of 1/4" Lexan! It scratches VERY easily, and I'll replace it with a (narrowed 3 1/2") MGB glass when I save up enough pocket change.

 

Fuckin Sick Man ! ! I love it. needs canted headlamp treatment from a 1962 chrysler 300.....my thoughts
