Art & Inspiration What should I call (name?) this?

ive always thought naming a car was gay, same as calling it a she, but if you gotta. the warbird idea is cool. guess naming a car is like gettin a nickname, itll just turn up.

 

Do a hotrod version of Jamed Deans Porsche "Lil' *******" I think it would be different then what everyone else has.

 

You don't see Olive paint 'cause it's not painted yet , and the top bows ('02 Chrysler Sebring, and fabric, wrinkles 'cause it was just laying on the bows) are under the bench untill the body's painted! The wheels and frame ARE painted, so look a little closer!

 

I like "Sack Time", but shrink the art, move it to the cowl, down low between the hood latch and lower door hinge. That would be the proper scale...nice photo shop work tho!

Man, If you had just described what you were going to do to it without the photos I'd have been one of those who said " Ah Hell No" but that car looks right and looks to be more fun than a bar full of redheads.

Maybe it doesn't need to be named yet and wants to wait until the right name comes along.

 

Here's a idear

 

I kinda thought it looked like a slipper too! Put a nice shiny paint job on it and call it the 'Gl*** Slipper'

 

Humpback, Roadster ....Holester, put some fur around the tub area.
Roadster Humpback...Rumpster, has some terrible gay connotations.

Humpback,tub,...Hubley. I think that would work.

Yup, or, what was left of one . Bottom six inches of the car GONE, broke in two when we moved it, no floor at all, anywhere, and one of the rear fenders blew off it coming home. Half a mile . Here's a couple photos of the horrific beginnings...

 

Now we're getting somewhere! Nice, I thought some "Nose Art" would look good right there! That fits.

 

I think I had some "Hubley" die cast toy trucks when I was a kid...

I had several, I think a vicky, and a regular sedan. I dropped the front axle's on them.
Like your car by the way. Nice proportions, tough to do with what you started with!

 

You could call it "The mullet" cause it's business in the front and party out back !
and have a smoking fish on the cowl !

Good to see you making progress Brian , Just curious bud but have you had the panels below the engine side covers off at all ? Now that we have seen some outside shots I was wondering if it would compliment the profile of the car without them ....

I think it looks like hell without them. I'd originally sketched the car as a highboy with frame rails exposed and flush with the curve of the hood. As it turns out, I'm not clever enough, or so I thought, to build it that way, plus it turned out that to get it low enough, it had to be channeled, so, the filler panels came to be.

 

pt 109 was cut in half while fighting .. During this event jfk hurt his back and he wrote a book all about it

 

It turned out nice.

I'd call it Fish****..

I think it would have a great early 60s feel painted metalic gold and call it "Golden Slipper" ... Yeah, that's it .... Toby

The PT109 never got to fire a single shot in anger. They were on their very first patrol when out of the darkness the very ships they were looking for emerged cutting the PT boat in half! The incredible heroism came after with JFK and crew stranded, some with severe burns.
