History Drag cars in motion.......picture thread.

If not mistaken this would be the car that was used to recreate the "Big John" Mazmanian gasser just a few years ago.

 

I pulled these from a HOT ROD April 2007 magazine

 

these are from a 10 year old misc drag mag.

 

I've asked this before but I'll try again and see if anyone remebers this car. It was a 65 Fairlane that went to Les Ritchey in 65. Later (1966-1967?) it was sponsored by Mel Burns Ford in Long Beach California. I found an ad that was in the Sept. 1967 HOTROD mag that says something about it setting a record somewhere. Anybody have any recollections?

His son, Randy, still is a top-notch tune up guy in the Pomona area. He tunes Gas Ronda's new black "Stang. I'll bet Greg Sharp at the NHRA Museum can get you a phone #.

I think I saw where Randy drove one of the new CJ Mustangs at this years Winternationals

Brutus vs Gas Ronda........Carlsbad 1966. If you look to the rear of Brutus you can see Ronda standing next to his Mustang with his silver fire suit on.
