S.E. Asia '68-69, Air Force medic, air search & rescue. Stayed stoned all through the early 70's..........returned to the "world" through the love of a good woman (still married) and drag racing. PTSD, didn't know what it was until recently.....had it, (or have it) but ignorance is bliss sometimes! I never tried to dwell on the negatives of that time, but occasionally I'd blow up and think WTF where is that coming from? I have a wonderful life, financially secure etc. so I'm not complaining in the least. Some of us didn't come home, so in a sense we really should be counting our blessings! Thanks for your service & this thread!:)

When a Marine buddy saw me in a uniform he said, "You know you aren't really in the military, You are just a government employee with a flight suit". I laughed, I liked it.
Yes, I'm a vet too. 10,000+ flying hrs, 3000 hrs in C130's & 7000+ hrs in C5's, both as a Flight Engineer. I've seen most of the world, good places & not so good places.
The HAMB is a great place. I'm so happy to still be "here", I'm polite to almost everyone.
Bonneville is the best place on earth, the HAMB is the best place on the internet.

Started reading this and now you guys got me thinking. I returned from Iraq in `03 with the same outlook ya'll have. Just figured I'd changed. I hate people, cant remember sh*t, and lose interest in things quickly. I just figured I was getting old! :) My garage is my therapy; doesnt matter what I'm doing thats where I like to be!

I have never lost interest in cars! Never will! The HAMB seems to be doing a good job keeping my attention for almost two years now and I dont see that changing any time soon!

Veterans ROCK!!! I've got a buddy in the Korengal Valley, Afghaninstan, and I have a feeling he will be pretty f-ed up when he gets home. I'm so glad you found something that can help. It makes me so sad that for a lot of guys, nothing helps. :( Those who have served past and present, I think should be taken care of WAY WAY better than they are. Thank you all.
