The car is dubbed, "6 Pack to go", but from all appearances, its a 4 banger. Tempest or Chevy? Its not a flattie with a OHV conversion

  10. Actually I think that is a six. Three intakes and the two center exhaust ports are shared. Can't remember the make but it's a gorgeous little motor

I was digging through a box and ran across these. Ive got another 25 framed and autographed, and another 300 in a box unsigned. Any way its time for a few race flyers. Come on we know everyone has some of these laying around.

They probably do.....but the newer drag cars tend to slow the thread down. I know you have some bitchin old photos.

I have a couple of photos that I took at the LA Roadsters' Show in 1967. Beleive it or not, this was the door prize. Has anyone out there ever seen pictures or have you seen this car in action??? Of all the articles I have ever read or seen on Tony Nancy, I've never seen this car even mentioned. Maybe that's why he gave it away..................

I wonder what this little number would be worth today?? On off weekends Carlsbad would open the track to the "Sports Car Boys". They would run what they called time trials. From the staging area they would run the opposite way through the pits and up the straight the opposite way. Some of them came back to run the quarter mile. It was nice to see the Cobras being run hard...................

Once having committed myself to the posting, I realized that was most likely the case. I just really liked inliner powered rails and altereds; flatheads too!

It's a Chevy 216 or GMC 301 6 cyl with stock head. Pre-1953 as per the 2 valve cover bolts. Chevy 235 6 cyls had 4 valve cover bolts and were in the Powerglide motors '53, and then later standard transmissions. In the early '60's the Chevy 6 was redesigned into the 250. Chevy and GMC 6's had 3 intake and 4 exhaust ports. The end ex ports were a single cyl each, center 2 were siamesed. All intakes were 2 cyl.

Here I am cackling my unfinished Cupit & Cunningham 1965 AA/FD on 80% in Baton Rouge several months ago.

They all were TOWED there...you can't push start a funny car without some bad stuff happening. Hard on the fiberglass. That's why the trucks are all in front of the cars. With the starters in the beds and on the tailgates...
