Well, today was a good day. Took the day off from work and headed to northern Kansas to visit my pal Terry at his small town named Scandia. Took my friend Bob with me and the 85 mile trip went fast as we were aided by a hurricane force south tailwind. A Ford Model A club from Kansas City was scheduled to stop in town for a couple of hours during lunch time to rest and eat. We got there early and a few of the locals had brought there own antique cars. The caravan of Model A's had not arrived yet. One of my old buddies Don was there is his 37 Ford Phaeton which is a very rare car. Only 87 years old and recovering from a stroke, Don was glad to see me and quickly offered me a ride in his car. Here is a photo of me and Don. <center>

We drove over to Terry's tire shop and looked at his new Model A acquisitions. First photo is my pal "barn find Terry" <center>

We killed some time visiting the local historical museum and ate a hearty lunch of prime rib sandwiches.

Sorry for the delay in uploading the photos. I had to go load a truck cab for a Russian trucker who showed up. Last pics. <center>

My favorite car besides the 37 was the maroon 31 Vicky. It had a Model B banger engine and a downdraft carb and hydraulic brakes.

For God's sake don't let the children see those naked lady garb rails on that Shay roadster, they'll be sticking them on their real Model As and other RR junk if they just catch a glimpse of them.

There were 2-3 of those Shay replica cars in attendance. I assume they are good highway cars. The club stayed awhile and resumed their trip to Nebraska and parts unknown.

  15. What perfect cars to make hot rod out of.

It's so cool to see a large group of old stock cars driving around. Makes you think that at one time that's all there was. About three years ago we had the entire Michigan Model A club stay in town for a weekend. They had a parade through town one afternoon. I didn't know they were here and it was kind of surreal to see about 200 Model A's putting along in a line.

  19. I just bought some parts last weekend off the guy that has the green fordor. It also has a B motor and downdraft with a Mitchel overdrive. I went to their club meeting on Monday night ... we played Bingo. I am 36 going on 70, Ha!

I did notice the Mitchell overdrive in that car. It's not a sin to play bingo! Some of my best friends are in their 70's.
The conversation is much better if you ask me.

    Thanks for the pics.
Those are some nice cars but my favorite has to be that phone booth pickup.

  26. I am inclined to agree with you on that one... Plus, you should have seen the buffet!

Yep, you can buy those from Mac's for around $900 big ones. Looks cool to me.

  28. Man you cats at the P-Flats Ranch get to have all of the fun !! >>>>.

  29. When I talked to that guy last weekend, I asked him that same question and he said that they were an available accessory back in the day for the 'A's. I did not ask him if they were repros or not. He is a restorer and a judge at model A shows.

The black truck with yellow wheels is too cool. I wouldn't change a thing.
