I found a garge full of 34 chevy's. A friend had me outline the flames on his PU and told me about a collection of 34 Chev parts, bodies and complete cars that he just bought from an old grouch who hoarded it all. I knew the guy that he bought them from had the cars, but he was too damn mean to ever sell me anything. Well seems the old guy hooked up with a young chick and moved away. So my friend heard the suff was for sale and he made an offer on the everything, including many machine working tools, lathes, computerized drill presses, water jet cutters, lifts, hand tools, a collection of reference materials and so much stuff you can't ebven look at it all. There's a bunch of stuff that would cost mega bucks if you had to buy individually. As for the cars, they are all complete, rust free with tiles... a 34 2 door sedan, 1 cabriolet, a PU and parts to build at least 3 roadsters, more PU's, I think he said there was roadster PU in the shop too. Plus 5 of every body part for 34 Chevs stored in an 80 ft trailer. I've already spoke up for the sedan. I have pics, but for now the owner said not to post them until he gets everything out of the garage. That will be in the next few months as the place is up for sale so he has to move it all. Once everything is out of there, he will be selling. If you need something 34 Chevy, send me your list. Mikey www.MikeysPinstriping.com www.HotRodConsulting.com
I have a 35 P/U that im doing. Going to use a Pontiac 400. I had a nice bon-fire with all the wood i replaced. I have a lot of extra parts not going to use the fenders or the original running gear if any is looking for something.
The parts from your 35 truck that you will not use. Post them in the parts for sale area of the hamb. You will sell them, and put pictures also...ghost
I'd have my '34 5 window on the road for 27 years. It's full fendered, but with an altered wheel base. Early Chevys have always been popular here in the Southeast.
It's a about four inches shorter in the hood area. There were some pictures of it in the Goodguys Bowling Green thread. I try to post some pictures tomorrow.
Not a 29. The metal between the frame horns up front, and the basic body lines are all wrong. Most likely a 31 independence AE three window coupe. Slight chance it could be a 30 universal 3 window coupe. Cause they shared some of the same lines...ghost
Heres my 32 Roadster. Built in the late 50's as a race car, most of the wood was replaced at that point. It was "forgotten" in a corner of the garage around '67.
my grandpa has a 31 coupe fully restored and drivable and my dad has a 33 3/4 ton truck that he is about to restore.
I really dig that Chev too! Jimmy B's currently buildin' a very cool '25 Chev Roadster, check out his thread updates: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257596
Thanks Ghost, from the very few photos on line of 27-33 original chevys I thought it must be a 31. The question is now is this car worth the huge amount of work to turn it into a fun driving car. He said (her father) it's been channeled and boxed, it does have front disc brakes and a Ford 9" out back, a mild 350 with a th350 slushbox. The roof has been sheet-metaled and that looks like it was done with some care. The other body panels installed were not so great. The rear fenders are glass most likely Ford because I haven't seen any chevys in any monthly rags. I sure would like to find some info on chevy parts for this car. David
Almost any old car is worth fixing up. Your 31 looks like it is in pretty decent shape and would be a great project.
Yep, its a real roadster. My uncle bought the car in the late 50's already built. One of the first things he did was throw away the top bows. Over the years alot of the other pieces disappeared as well. The diehard restoration guys would probably cringe seeing whats been done to it since it is a fairly rare car - channeled over a '38 frame, wood dash, molded in gas tank cover, rumble lid was leaded in, steel plate floor, firewall was piecut and "opened up" to fit the body over the wider frame, and it had a 3" pipe rollbar which I removed when I first got the car. IMO its too far gone to restore so it will continue being a hotrod, way more fun that way.....and Im not really into the resto thing anyway. I dont have any other pics on the computer right now but will definitely post when things start happening which should be this fall. I have most of the parts for the car including a 468 with '67 'Vette aluminum heads, Man-A-Fre setup, Spalding ignition, Muncie 4 spd, Ansen bellhousing, and a Halibrand champ QC with 40 Ford bells. The only thing Im still up in the air about is fenderless or not. It will either be mag torque thrusts with the fenders or 17" Chevy artillerys without fenders.
