So its a 1930 sedan. It was in an accident, it's tired. Needs new paint, very light body work, engine needs to be cleaned up but runs great. Needs new fenders, re-chroming of hubs, some interior patch work. And a new front axle, the current one is welded together with no braises

    He wants $12,500
    Thanks

I wouldn't give over 10 grand for it. By the looks of the rear, needing new fenders, and new paint, interior work, and whatever else you decide to do. It could add up real quick and you could be 15 grand or more into it before you get a car you really like.

Well, with more details we could see how much its really worth. But from all I know it has 100,000 miles on rebuild, frame and running gear could be cobbled together, and who knows how much bondo could be on that.

    so many factors..

    Whats the motor?
    juice brakes?
    steering?
what year axles does this car have.

all play a huge role in the cost of the vehicle. Id say if it was a bone stock A with fiberglass fenders and those wheels id give 6400 if i wanted it realy bad.

Okay heres what i know, the frame is about 95%, its has a 305 small block. It was built about 40 years ago, and there wasn't any visible bondo so i dont really think theres too much if any, the interior is fabric but is complete except for a spot missing from the back corner, fires right up, sound really good. automatic tranny, very nice dash, windshield wiper, radio, underside is fairly clean,

A lot depends on how much you do and what you do . Drop the fenders and rattle can it after body work . Freshen up the engine and repair and replace what is needed for safety in driving you may still be at a break even point .

About 40 years ago. Ask the owner if the engine has hardended valve seats. Because that was before people ran unleaded Gas if memory serves and will probably need head work if it has run too long on unleaded gas. Do you know how many miles is on it after it was built in the late 60's.

i dont remember the exact mileage but it wasnt a lot, maybe 20, 30, 40k miles

  22. Have someone you know that builds rods check it out with you. That is the best way. Hard to place a value on a written description and some vague pics. If the chassis is crap it is no bargain. Pat.

I can relate, but you asked the question of "oppinion" on an open forum, then seemed to not like the "oppinion". It seems high to me too, but again, its not my money, or my car, and I'm not there seeing what the damage and bonuses are to completely evaluate. Have a mechanic or appraiser in your area look it over IN PERSON.

Gold can you fabricate and do mechanical . Are you going to do the body work on your own also . If so you can fix anything that is there and wrong .

The part that bothers me is that the roof line on the passanger side looks tweeked from the acident it had. I don't mind if the fenders are junk, hell, I don't care for fenders on hot rods anyway. But, if the roof is tweeked, then probably the frame is tweeked too. So, maybe you need a new frame for this one? I think twelve is kinda steep. Offer him nine thousand.
