Please, on offence to anyone overseas, but if all this stuff is real light it could be on its way out of the country.

It has to be another vendor, not very heavy, but easy to resell.

When he is finally caught, the judge will determine that he had an abusive childhood, or one of the popular acronym diseases - ADD/ADHD/etc. He'll be slapped on the hand and put back out on the streets and told to be nice.

Where's a nice sharp machete when you need it? Oh yeah...hanging next to my compressor in the garage...ready at all times.

If I can't lock my shit down when I leave...then I don't leave. Sometines it's worth the cost of an extra space to place a camper or something else to sleep in at your spaces. It really does suck that people are stealing like that, particularly at that venue!!! best of luck!!!!

Man I know the feeling! I had two quick change housings stolen at a swop meet in Winston Salem years ago, covered them with a canvas while gone to lunch, an hour later they were gone. There were plenty of Rats around, long before RR's became popular!

Does he have a Paypal account? I'll donate some money to help him recover. $5 $10 $20 here and there could sure go a long way to help him. There are a lot of people on the H.A.M.B. that have no use for thieves! What do the rest of you think? Let's help him out!!!

Grumpy, I'll subscribe to this thread or you can PM me his info, if he has an account. It doesn't have to be Paypal. We can donate by mail too.

You know, you can't just blame the damn thief. If "good, upstanding" citizens wouldn't buy stolen property the thieves would just be wasting there time. Think about it. Trouble is, our society caters to thieves. The same folks that condemn stealing will not hesitate to buy stolen property. Sad but true. Think about it.

Last year I camped out in my friend's vendor tent at a Roman re-enactment event on a college campus in VA. In the middle of the night I awoke to find that two drunk co-eds crawled under the tent flap. It sounds like a good start for a letter to Penthouse, but they were just there to boost a little souvenier. I sat up and yelled at them. They damn near pissed themselves, dived under the tent, and ran away. I sat up the rest of the night and later two boys tried to reach under the tent at the "expensive" end. I saw their shadows through the wall and seriously thought about slashing one of them (I was in a tent full of swords). Instead, I just yelled in his ear as loud as I could. They squealed even worse than the girls as they ran away. One of the bimbos left behind one of her flip-flops. In the morning I jabbed it onto a spear outside the tent as a warning to others. I included a sign that "thieves will be sold into slavery, female thieves will be rented hourly". We had no further problems for the rest of the event and Campus Security was grateful that they didn't have to figure how to write up a beheading. Seriously, I hope they catch the friggin' bastid'.

some times you can't tell, if something looks fishy to me, i won't buy it,but how in the world are you supposed to tell?

  19. I would bet it's not just some crackhead. It's another vendor who knows what the stuff is worth. It sounds like they took some big-dollar items that would sell quickly. I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to re-sell it at Carlisle. They took it, hid it away in their truck or took off with it, and they're waiting for things to cool down before trying to re-sell, either on overseas markets, craigslist, or ebay, and it'll probably go little by little. A huge lot like that, selling all at once, is a dead giveaway.

Well, with the amount of people hit and the volume of crap, it was a group, not one guy. Somebody in the group is going to be stupider than the rest of them... you'll find that guy.

Thanks for that offer, but I'm sure he would say No. He is a business and I'm sure theres insurance or something.
He may chime back in this thread, but Id bet he would say Thank you for the offer, but hold onto your money.
If anyone is interested, his website is at the bottom of my signature, and he can be found on the HAMB as Bullet Man.

He'll be set up at the Canfield Swapmeet this weekend coming, May 1-3, in Canfield Ohio.
I'll be there helping him all weekend.

Yep, somewhere along the way one of them will have to brag to someone how they did a big ripoff at the swapmeet.
I'd still be finding out what vehicle that was big enough to pack all of that stuff left very early on the day the thefts were discovered. Probably right when the gate opened. Motorhome, pickup-camper or van. Someone saw them heading out ass

hey if he won't accept donations, does he sell stuff online? I'm sure there are cool parts people here need, everyone could make his buisness pick way up and help offset some of the loss.
