Hell yeah! My 53 has one in it. My little man loves to ride in the 53 and if riding in it builds the p***ion then I'm all for it.

I always figured that my '53 was the only car ever with modern retractable three point belts in the back seats, and no seat belts at all in the front.

Why do you think my A pickup is for sale and I'm building an A Tudor. It is so Mom has a place to sit. My son and his car seat ride in my hot rod more than they ride in my "daily".

My '46 has a car seat in it 90% of the time- my three year old daughter claims it's her truck, so I have to make it somewhat safe for her to ride in.

Not to hijack, but I saw your truck out at the drags Sunday. Before I got a chance to catch up to you, you had already left. Awesome truck, it really looks nice. Jim

that's awesome.....man the times have changed. I think if I got pulled over with my kids not properly secured, they'd send me to prison for life.

My daughters grew up in c****ats strapped into the rumble; currently, the World's Most Beautiful Granddaughter loves to ride in my '41 pickup, as well as the roadster.

I grew up standing up in the back seat of my old Mans Bel Aire.
    (Way before car seats).

Took my 3 year old on his first ride on Saturday. Strapped the car seat in and headed down the road. I've been asked everyday when we a going again. I enjoy the car more than ever now.

My brothers and I used to stand up in the back of the pick up and lean over the top of the cab when our parents drove into town once or twice a month. We lived in the foothills of the Ozarks. The roads were lined with yellow diamond shaped signs letting you know how fast to safely take the next curve. We'd collect a pile of rocks to throw at the metal signs along the way. They'd make a loud, "Bang!" It didn't damage them. We were only allowed to use small rocks. Also, we couldn't throw them if some one was coming or following us because it might have bounced off and hit some one else's car. There usually weren't any cars until we got closer into town.

I didn't mean to hijack the car-seat thread. ArtGeco's post just reminded me of standing in the back of the truck. It's a wonder we're still alive.

i had baby seats in my car for 5 years before taking it of the road, then when it was almost finished after years of rebuilding it i ended up with another bun in the oven.
my first son was only a few days old when i dragged him of to his first car show in my car.

Back in the mid 80's I had a car seat set up in my 37 Chevy coupe!!! My daughter used to love climbing back there!!! She didn't turn out to be a car girl....but she's always interested in what I'm doing at the time and more importantly she always speaks of her fond memories during those years!!!

Started the 35 master 4-door so our whole family can go. I am installing 3-point belts in the back for the boy's car seats.

When my daughter was younger and had to be in a car seat..that was the main reason I put seat belts in my 53 chevy..
Now that shes older no more child seat..but still has to wear the belt.

Im thinking in the A im currently building it will have Shoulder restraints in all for seat positions. Im going to cannibalise them from a Mini van or combination Mini van and Pick up truck..or what ever vehicle i can get that the design will work.

I still have Little ones in my extended family that im sure will love to ride in this car , so the ability to strap them or the child seats in, will be a plan in the build

I have one in my 57 Chevy 2 door wagon. My daughter is 2 and loves to ride in the car. She has to have her ear muffs on or she won't go near it though. (11.5/1 small block) But, she usually falls asleep after about 5 minutes of the car running.

I have two seats in the back of my 29 phaton my girls love it.......

  30. A while back there was a thread on Mini-Van center seats, I used one in my 29 and recently installed one in a fellow rodders 31 that has the integrated child seats, pretty slick if you've got kids, folded up you don't know they're even there. A great choice for someone building a coupe or roadster and need a child saftey seat.
