how about some info on the wandermere swap. time, place, contact info etc. driving out from portland for tri cities swap, wasn't aware of this other swap.

  14. It's REALLY small... like half a parking lot at a grocery store. I sure as hell wouldn't drive the extra 3 hours for it.

  16. Depends I guess, some years I find all kinds of good stuff, others have been just plain SHIT!

I would not drive to far for either. Have gotten good stuff, but mostly for locals.

the kennewick meet has always been a cool little kicked back affair, i usually make the rounds of my favorite wrecking yards on the way to or from. strangely, i haven't had much luck in the tri-cities as far as wrecking yards go. everything is either late model crap or out of sight price-wise.

Tri Cities is fun if the weather is good, otherwise the vendors stay away-rain in the desert keeps everyone indoors. It's fairly small and very laid back, but I have found some good things there, plus it's usually a reason to get out of the wet west for a day.

whats the story with wandermere? what times it starting? and what time does it end?

  21. It's really small and in a parking lot, so there really is no start/end time. I would guess people will start showing up around 8ish and go into the early afternoon.

    Chris,
I was the other guy that was interested in your 41 you sold last fall. Funny how the same guy bought my 67 galaxie convertible!

Actually my wife bought the Galaxie for herself, and she wont let anyone get confused on that subject.
That was a hell of a Ride back from Twisp. got the Vent window repaced ,much less airflow.

    Good luck at the swaps.....

What's your strategy.... as you seem to find the good stuff....

Do you do a quick recognisance pass first followed by a really good look?

Maybe get one of you to start at the other end whilst keeping in phone contact...

Then a few more passes as the late coming sellers arrive???

Finding the parts is half the fun I reckon.

  27. No strategy, just show up and buy. Gotta have a little money, though ;) I guess the main thing is there is still a lot of "good stuff" up in this area!

Showing up with money is only half of it though. Chris has sensors built into his brain that send tracking signals to all the parts he wants at swap meets. Then the signals are returned if the object is ungodly cheap. He is the king of swap meets. I envy chris so much!
