HAHAHAHA! Skratch is the*****!!!! Cool dude with awesome talent! "I may not be loud...but i'm louder than you!",LOL!!!!!!! You got me beat,Skratch....Vespa driving by,LMAO!!!!
I met Skratch at VLV last year. I had already bought a piece of his artwork (The Merc Truck stripes), but would've goten him to do it if he hadn't already. I obviously knew who he was, but didn't let on too much. Anyhow, he was a great guy. Went to dinner with us and some other lowlifes (prolly to get to know my wife a bit better). The next day he rode back to Cali, with me in the Merc Truck and I dropped him somewhere near Burbank. One of the coolest people that has ever sat in the Merc Truck; and one of the funnest parts of the whole trip. Thanks for the insight and company buddy. Sorry we didn't get a chance to hang much during roundup. Hopefully we'll get a chance before next year.
My son and I got to hang out with Scratch a while at the Round Up. Being a relatively new striper myself, it was extremely cool to look over his shoulder (while he striped a '53 Chevy) and pick his brain about the art. One of the coolest guys I've met. Even got to meet his mom.
Scratch is way cool....he did one of my Photo Storage Box's....like 5 years ago....while I waited!.....
Skratch is one of those guys that the more I see of his work or hear him speak, the more I want to see his work or hear his opinion. I always watch "Low Life" on Speed and caught his commentary a while back. Not only does he seem like a genuinely nice guy, but he speaks the truth. Not too many of those guys around anymore.
Skratch, jump on the bird, fly down to New Zealand ,I got***** loads of work for ya ,you may need a work visa ,as you will be here for a while
I gotta say, as the years roll by Im becoming a fan because I dig those scallop chunks in the striping. Its something that I think hell be remembered for in conjunction with his striping style! I wish to hell I could remember the one that opened my eyes to this dudes striping. Its on the HAMB somewhere.
I had him stripe my caddy before I moved from Cali to Texas. Was really laid back, let me wonder around his shop and look at all his projects. The first thing he did was hide a scratch I had on top of my fender by the headlights with tear drop... I was like good idea!!! Wish I could find a stripper in the Lubbock area that could do this kind of work.... The designes look like Rockets that are blasting off...especially the one on the trunk lid. Ditto on the scallops in his work too, different and cool
Hahaha......WHOOSH........right over your head.... Never met Skratch...but the article in R&C years ago with him laying out lines is what got me to dig out my brushes and try my hand at striping again after a 10 year hiatus.....thanks man!
