So I gotta get this thread started because there will be two of us updating it. Today the top came off at Chuckles Garage...front tires came in...rear suspension's starting to trickle in as well and I'm all jacked up on the progress!!

Heres a couple (phone) pics to get started:

I'll be updating this every so on with progress pics. This is a 1930 A Sedan...it will be chopped 6", channeled 4" on a custom 2x4 box frame. It will be powered by a 1961 Buick Wildcat 401 and use the wildcat's transmission and rear axle as well. Plans are for a bulldog style front suspension and 4 link in the back. It will sit low with a cool rake, but not ridiculously low.

This was an old flathead powered hotrod some time ago. From the looks of it, at one point the work was done very well...and then hacked up pretty bad by later owners. It's got a really cool chromed frontend that looks like it was done well. The spring is sacked out, but the rest is usable. The front bones are mounted on some pretty scary mounts. I hope it was just an old mockup. Just gross.

here's a before, and progress as of today....

Oh yeah? Well...well...nice face! The motor is yours, but that intake is mine!!

Since I'm going with that 3x2, its nice to see the carb height, not to mention the rake and the wheels and the pipes running down the cowl.

    Hard as nails muh fuh'!

Note that the front end will be bulldogged rather than suicide.

Don't forget that thursday we need to wheel the buick over and start gutting it.

Don't forget....YOU are gutting it. I'm an artist not a dismantler. But yes, I'll help you move it hahahaha. Its just a few bolts.....a few really crusty, frozen bolts.

Excuse me, "...we need to wheel the buick over and I can start gutting it"

Hahahaa...those crusty old bolts pose no more a threat than those U bolts that had the rear end jerry rigged to the frame!!

Anyone on here selling saws-all blades by the truck load?

Been a while since I updated, but its actually progressing. My wedding and honeymoon set me back a couple weeks.
Heres the front suicide setup. The arched crossmember is 1/4 thick. I wanted it to be super strong since its only 2x2. Its fishplated inside and out to the rails. The hanger is your garden variety t-bucket style. Metalfinishing is only half done. And....to the critics.....yes the welds are penty strong to metal finish, and no I'm not hiding anything haha.

This is going to be sick. Was there a reason other than preference that you chose a T front crossmember setup as opposed to an A?

    Thanks Gigantor!

The customer wanted a suicide setup, and it was a good opportunity to do one that didn't look like a blocky thing sitting out in front of the grille.

Show a picture of your split wish bones. They look neat but can't see completely.

Heres the ends......They were really scary looking to begin with so I wacked off the ends and put 3/4 heims on. This guy is going to use this thing on the strip so it has to be strong. They are early 40s bones that were split and chromed aloooong time ago. There should be pics of them in the first part of the thread.
