How you doing? Just wanted to say how much i appreciate your thread, all the history these fine rides have make me jealous i dont live on that side of the border But i have faith those cars are in good hands with people like you that truly understand and capture(somewhat lost in translation that word) what traditional is., you really love those cars. bigds54, thanks for the kind comments..truly appreciate em!!To be polite here let's keep in english,ok?? I did PM'd you lready...probably i can help you out on the your car needs, hopefully! Yep,Colima is peaceful and relaxed, xactly a nice place to retire not far from the beaches, only 30m away...have some cool friends over there...many retired europeans (and americans too) there as you said..Life is simple, quality time and great food ,no doubt about it..and is summertime all year long, what more do you need? Ah,yeah..we need old junk cars..yes,they have them too..plan to check some other stuff from that area ,hopefully soon some pix... You bet i'll keep going on findin junk,is a no way back sickness..and is gettin worse every day,so stay tuned....workin on some shit around right now...some GOOD one!!Ah,ah,ah... well, glad you had fun here...Sled
yeah sled sorry bout that edited in my translation and again many praises and may you save all the ones you can. Viva La HAMB
Sled: Well, some time ago a pal was keep tellin that he wanted to show me an old strange Ford..he's not a 36,i know 36's!!Well finally we went there and this is what showed up...the mechanic and helpers were keep tellin it was a 38,yeah right....And i almost fell when 1 guy said that this could probably be a convertible because the typical cut in the roofline!!Was really holding tight there but anyway...we had some fun for sure!!Actually we kept going and found more...it was a lucky day!!
Anthony, not that i know... a friend o mine is practicing all the time, and he's heavily into trad rods/kustoms but honestly is still far away from good results...ya know, takes lots of practice. Perhaps they can exist, would love to meet somebody that is good on pinstriping ...but i could'nt find em yet!
Sled: Well ,just after the 37 coupe my friend wanted to try his luck and told..let's see if in this place the lock is off, cause it means the old fella is there workin...Yep,lucky day,at the first shot we were in....This old gentleman owns this 33 Ford pick up since the 70's...they did some shitty work on it before ,but still savable....He has to put a cover on taht thing before the rainy season..My friend has the first chance on buyin it...when,who knows ??The old guy still has'nt decided..and is well over 70!Was a cool day indeed...
Krome,i just saw one that belongs to a guy i just met...exactly a 46.I do know a good number of 47/48's Fleetlines..you mean the Aerosedan sedanettes, right??If so i had some of those and i can still find en around here...will post some pix soon.
Sled: Hi gang, just been been back from Mexico City ..things went serious over there with this flu syndrome and definately was not worth it to stick around more over there..i did managed to see some junk after lot of hunting work...it paid back big time, too bad i had to leave the city..very surrealistic situation. Anyway, here we go...time ago i met a guy at a local swap meet and talkin cars he knew about 2 Caddys 59 convertibles sittin since long time in a garage back yard ...he knew 1 was fake, but the other one not....so,we made out our plan to check it out...and this what i saw there....as usual the mechanic said that he's gonna restore it soon...car is sittin since 15 years or more outside... And surprisingly all the body and floors are in good solid conds...still a huge task to restore such a monster!Parts are all over the place, what pricks.... Anyway, looks to me a series 62 vert....much more stuff comin soon. Sled
Sled: from the DF tour..i knew about this Buick 57 wagon since time ago ...changed hands couple times and still at the same stage.Quite cool lines to me..will be probably never finished as far i see.,..is gettin worse every time. What a shame.
Sled: Well, still in Mexico City area i was following this Caddy coupe de ville for a while...i knew the owner was kinda special and reserved.Anyway with the excuse to check out some other project cars he then showed me this one and with surprize i noticed some cardboard on the roof...he wanted to chop this nice solid coupe and put a fiberglass roof on it to make a fake convertible...yeah,right!!!A good way to fuck up a cool car!!So,i took my time to show him how a chop top should be and he freak out on the Merc 50 job...of course the guy had not a shighly idea how to do such job....so,probably i convinced him to fuck up somethin else less valuable and swap the Caddy with some other junk i have..let's see how it goes.
Sled: Well,i never seen one of these myself...looks like it's a Chrysler 37 sedan delivery. Not 100% positive but if somebody knows plaese chime in and confirm...kinda cute proportions to me,with those factory ribs on the bodyline...Tryin to imagine this slmmed and running...Any infos welcome ,fellas.Anyone knows production numbers ???Im curious now...
Thanks Magnus B as usual....workin on more pix to put togheter so can be shown soon.Still no 34 5w coupes for you buddy,ah!!One day it will come up,don't loose faith.... Anybody knows what the white sedan delivery project above is??Show your knokledge,fellas... Sled
Crestliner, you're correct...it's a 41 Plyma. The 40 does'nt have the nice ribs on the body....just plain! From a quick reasearch 487 were made in 41. I knew those ribs were familiar but i could'n figger that out..thanks for the hint!! Sled
yep, a 41 Plymouth Sedan Delivery....Rare. And from the looks of things, an old hot rod. Disc brakes on the front and it looks like all of the fenders have been moulded on...wonder what else.
Ralf,correct..it has been modified underneath..owner left it in a mechanic place that does home convertions more than 5 years ago and disappeared, typical here...probably it will be for sale cause after so long owner has no right to claim the car back.Did not ask about this but seems probably to me...
Sled: Well, time for some bikes too...hope is not O/T.Finally met a guy which i planned since time to check his bikes..he has couple projects layin around and havin 2 new babies left him off the possibility to play anymore with bikes..so,they are for sale. Talk plural cause there are more... Anyway a Knuck 47 FL here...always loved Knuckleheads myself...had couple of em. Good solid project,a bit mixed but 90% there.. PM me if interested, got plenty pics...Sled
Sled: More bike stuff from the same place...62 Duo Glide in running conds...kinda gay paint but anyway, bike was pretty solid and complete..also for sale. This was from the mexican Army,so well preserved... In case of interest just let me know.....Sled
Sled: Well, also there was a rare 33 VLD big twin (74") sittin there...great old patina.Missing ghandlebar and some other parts but basically engine, tranny, frame and all front end complete ...plus rims and fenders...after a quick research 700 of these were made in 1933.Wonder how many they still exist??? Well, also available for sale..just drop me a PM in case...Sled

K.S.K. welcome mate...glad made you remember your good hunting times... About the page 5 blue 51 Merc has been sold somewhere but i did not buy it..i lost track back then.It can be very possible that has been exported to down under, why not??Not me ...I had my chance to buy it,but i was more info finding the 49/50 Mercs....i know a good number of 51 coupes around here, nothing difficult to find for me...they are still around. Sled......awesome thread Cabron...... I know the grass is always greener on the other side.......but you are living my dream..... Good luck to you... Drop a line on a 40 merc or 39 Zephyr. I always wanted to go to Mexico and hunt down tin. I always ask around when I go to Durango. Not much stuff out there but there was some tin as I asked all the extended family and friendly neighbors. Lot of old beat up farm trucks. I know of some nice ones my cousin is trying to get for me in Chihuahua. No time to stay on it but it is a passion and fun to make contacts and meet new people. Keep up the good work and keep posting.
El Nene, thanks for the kind words...actually been busy lately on scarfin around and shortly some other junk will be posted...You'll see it!! I had some hints on nothern locations recently, but they are really far out from me,takes time and sweat to follow all leads,ya know that...But i like to go to new areas and try out my luck...usually the good krma brings good results...sometimes stuff comes to me,i don't look for it but it just comes alone.. Hey,do yourself a favour also...do an intro too,ya know...is your first post on Hamb...welcome!! Sled
SLED: Cool pics man Thanks! I love the meat wagon and the 36 three window is sweet! I'd give my left nut for one of those!
