I really like the idea of coral. It's a period color as is seafoam green, pastel yellow, powder blue, all of which works for the intended look and primary driver.
For some reason the ladies like pink, beats me why. If it makes her happy go for it. After looking at the two bikini ladies, I think pink looks good. CRUISER
I say go for it, I am far from gay and I dig pink. Hell its a fifties kinda thing and this is a traditional hot rod site so do the math. Funny thing I am painting my 32 Roadster a 1957 T-Bird color...Dusty Rose! (titty pink)
I totally agree with you here! I was actually looking for the picture of her car to post on this thread. Probably the best usage of pink on a car I've seen. Not saying that I'd do my car in pink though!
ive seen pink on alot of cars at different shows..some of it looked pretty good some just looked out of place..but that can happen with any color i guess...we have plans of pinstriping pink and white on my ol ladys 29 tudor...
It took me a minute to find the ass... I mean car, period! Not exactly the highlight of that photo... THANK YOU for my new work computer background!
I think pink is more a colour for a custom, but i guess it is her car my girlfriend wants a black leather seat with pink stitching when she gets a roadster, i think I'll just throw a blanket on it!
If it's to be her car, then let her paint it whatever she wants. Guide her towards some of other shades like G.M.'s Mystic Magenta or the Corals of the era, but if she holds fast to pink..... then you gotta decide it the battle is worth fighting. Maybe she just wants to make sure that she's the one driving it. Had a neighbor that bought a brand new 59 Lincoln Continental Convertible, the color was Autumn Rose, basically the same as the Dusty Rose on the T-Birds. You would think that much pink on a Freeway Locomotive, would be pretty nasty, but it was really bitchin'.
There is nothing wrong with the right shade of pink...or any girly color. Heck mine is peach...always mistaken for pink. My dad had a fit when I picked out my color. Now though he likes it and isn't afraid to drive it or anything like that. I've always gauged my boyfriends off of it...if they didn't want to be seen in it then buy-buy they weren't for me. Even my manly man grease ball brother drives it! I have people who love it and people who hate it. I really don't care who hates it, its mine and unique to me. I went to the swapmeets and found paint chips from the manufacturers to pick my color. That would be where I would take your wife to find the colors, just keep in mind that the paint chips are faded. My color was actually pinker in 58 then the color chip shows.
Not as GAY ( yeah, i said it) as the Iron Cross, Spider web clad Fenderless '35 & up Shit Box BoBBer Trucks & Rat Rod's that are so well liked on this Forumn. I can't even believe anyone would have a Nay-Say about it here as many times as i have heard " ITS YOUR'S, DO WHAT YA WANT" There were Plenty of Pink colors around the the Old Days & there was a Survivour Pink Hot Rod featured in R&K a couple years ago. Pick a NICE Pink and it will make it HER car, Pick the wrong Pink and it will look like a refugee from the Mini-Truck Era. Maybe primer it WHITE, They would match a White car better than the Black.
Can't believe nobody else has sunk to this level, but: SHOW PINK!!! Glossy magenta/pink on flat grey primer would look bitchin'.
Like said before Pink on "some" customs, but I think in your case the pink wheels might be over the top! I had a Panther Pink 70 340 Cuda a few years ago, Very valuable car, It was hard to drive it
