Another personal Fav. Frank DeRosa Jr's 52 Cad. Whats up homie! And an unknown Sedanette. Both are chopped but not too far out there. Jr's cad is basically a resto with mild shaving and a Carson top but jaw dropping beautiful.

Mike is correct. With just one body mod, chopped top, the car would be considered a radical custom as far as the ISCA rules go. OR, if the car was sectioned, even if it didn't have any other body mods it would be consider a radical custom as well and put in that class. I do believe channeling puts a car in the radical custom class too but I'm not 100% on that body mod.

No matter what they are called all the cars in this thread are totally bitchen.....well except for Malcolm's...hhis photos suck. It's a good thing he got a new camera recently.:D

  8. Hey chops, it doesn't matter what anyone calls it, that fucker is TITS. That's the kind of car you look at, and wonder why it just keeps sucking you in to look closer! Perfect, perfect mild custom. Excellent job!!-MIKE

Man, I dig mild customs. I'd much rather see a nice car with restraint over a car that got taken too far.

I agree. It is a beautifully executed car. I have even tried to reach the guy who chopped it to find out how they handled that curved rear glass but he doesn't answer the number I was given.

Exotica is one of my favorite cars of all time. In no way, however, is it a "mild" custom. Just about every panel on that car has been modified to make it better. That's one of the brilliant things about G. Howards cars. The mods are so subtle and perfect to the lines of the car, you overlook some of changes. He just makes the car look "right" where a lot of customizers just make their cars look different.

Yep, I hate the "modifications for modifications sake" stuff. If it doesn't improve the car I'm against it. I see a lot of chops and stuff that don't improve the car. But then again I like tasteful...

When I think of a "mild" custom this is what I think of. Mild in no way means less modifications or effort, but only that the changes are more subtle. I am sure that it is just as time consuming and difficult to build a subtle car than to build a wild chopped, sectioned, in your face type of custom.

Anyone have more pictures of this car??

  20. I really like any of the 61 GM bubble tops or converts as mild customs. Seems like 60 and 61 where good years for car styling.

Sorry, guys... I know some that I posted aren't necessarily 'mild' customs. Good looking cars, though...

This is the only other one that I have access to right now

That big brown pile was driving me crazy.

Excellent panel job, did you say you painted it yourself?

It is not candy. It is two differant colors of paint and flake. I totally did it the hard way. But I wanted to just try it this way just to see if it would work. The egde between the two colors did not come out as as bad as I thought. A little sanding and some pin stripe and taa daaa! It works.

PS. I do not recommend doing this. It was a lot of work and taping. It would have been way easier (in theory) to do a candy green over silver.:D

SLED-Thanks for the info. I'm looking for more pics of this car as I'm currently building a 49 Sedanette. If you could lead me in the right direction I'd be much appreciative.
