  2. A card showing my old stomping grounds in Seminole, Fl.
    Check out the 40 coupe.
The spot is still the boat ramp at Lake Seminole park, and the lake is still full of alligators.

  9. Ah yes, the exceedingly rare HD Panhead mirror edition. Made for export to countries that drive on the left side of the road

  10. And,in spite of popular belief, not a woodie to be seen anywhere except for the one provided by this fetching lass.

Not sure of the exact year, but in the mid 70s Cape Lookout, NC was bought by the National Park Service and in time designated a National Seashore Park and that was the end of vehicular access. Till then there were private operators who could ferry you over and back.
My first wife and my son and myself went there in one of the last years you could take a vehicle over and we tent camped about a week. I was into off-road then and had a '64 Jeep 3/4 ton p'up witha 283 SBC, 4 WD, 10X35 tires, 2 speed transfer case & 4.10 gears
The island had lots of fishermen and cabins they rented. Derelict cars in the sand and surf all over. There was all sorts of interesting folks and I won't bore you with that.
Where we camped we could look West and see the sound behind the island about 300 yards away, and to the East about 100 yards was the beach! Dug a pit toilet& put up a screen. It was "self flushing" as the hole almost filled up with water @ high tide, then drained out as the tide receeded!
Did the same sort of thing several times off the GA coast @ Cumberland Island before the Feds stopped all vehicular access except to what few private property owners were still around.
I gotta say I miss those days, and even more those of the 50s.
