I never noticed one with the frame attached to the motor. Was this one of those needle in a hay stack designs or was this some what common back then.

I am looking for some pictures of a sports car that was raced in the late 50s and 60s at the Kinston NC and Fayetteville NC drag strips. The car was owned by Fred I. Sutton and was an alum body with a hemi and 6
    carbs.

  22. Eddie pretty much was flying solo on this one. He maintained the design when he added the second, side by side motor.

    from nowhere...

Its very interesting, though...I guess its taking advantage of the motor as a stressed member, and maybe the idea was that it would add rigidity?
Would it save marginal weight in tubing?
I've seen this car before, and wondered how it worked out for him...

Out here getting my nightly fix, came back to view this 4 times. OMG I'm in love again! Does this car have a story/history or just a great shot? Thanks to every one of you for posting these pics.

That is one cool 33 plymouth. Is it me or are the quarter windows gone?

  27. The "Inferno" was a Chevy II,run in 1969.This shot was taken by Ted Pappacena. He has this, and hundreds more over at his site,dragracingimagery.com.This car was run by Don Kuhar,Sam Gelber and I think the other partners' name was Bozak. Dennis Doubleday

Just wondering... what was (is?) the theory behind this plate over the carbs, versus a scoop? Gary
