History F**K That *other* Pontiac thread, let's see what made 'em GRRRREAT!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by monsterflake, Apr 28, 2009.

  1. Monster, you probably figured it out by now, it's the f---d truck scoop.

  2. I'd name it "Geronimino".

Dug into my Pontiac photo albums and dug out a few more cool pics (including a couple, again, of my buddies 64 2+2)...

  12. My soft spot for Pontiac started when I was 17 and bought a 4 speed, tri-power '66 GTO for $600. The engine was shot, so in went a 421. You could burn up a set of tires in no time. Those were the days.

What brand / color paint did you use on your motor? Looks great. I sent you a PM asking the same thing, but never got a reply. Just dying to know... Thanx, Gary

My eyes can't see those small pix too well, but if I squint I think like the second one from the top as a better match despite the model year probably being wrong. Hopefully, the owner will pipe in soon. Thanx, Gary

Oh Lord, were to begin... I've been a Pontiac freak since I was a kid in the 70's. My dad had a 74 Firebird that was a blast to ride in!
I brought my second and third kid home from the hospital in my 68 LeMans.
My first car was a 76 455 4spd Trans Am.
    I've owned:
    1976 Trans Am 455 4spd.
    1977 Trans Am 400 AT
    1988 Trans Am
    1968 Firebird 455 4spd
    1968 LeMans 455 At
    2002 Grand Am
    1976 Trans Am 400 AT
1971 Firebird Esprit--> Trans Am clonification Pro-Touring build
1968 Firebird- Wife's car (basket case) Big money pit.
    and...
My newest trinket- a 1937 IHC D2 pickup. Guess what kind of engine it's getting?? Hmmmmmm...... I think I hear wardrums beating....
I guess I'm just slightly addicted.

  23. Pontiac addict here. These are my cars and I have owned. 2 other 68 Firebird 400 4 sps, 1 1967 455 4 sp Firebird with 3:90 gears, 1968 Trans Am with a 400, and a 1968 GTO 400 4 sp with the enduro delete option. I parted that one out! Ugh!! I also owwn a 1989 GTA Trans Am convertible with a 350 L98 and its one of 50 made.

Sorry I hadn't checked in for a couple weeks. The blue is Dupli-Color Pontiac Blue Metallic # DE1616. Around the exhaust ports is Eastwood High Temp silver. The manifolds are HPC coated. The intake is an old Edelbrock that I cut out the heat crossover, ground off all extra bumps and letters and had powder coated. I also plan on painting the blue in between the fins of the valve covers.
