just trying to set the record straight. whether we are welcome to car shows or not we don’t care because nothing will stop us from the hobby we have chosen and enjoy. me and a few of us have owned, driven, and worked on these type of cars since high school. it's not a trend to us.

our club did NOT start the fight. what is one to do when one is being aggravated and punched? our friends got jumped and no one did anything until the rest of us were told so we rushed to stop it. if anything we got the short end of the stick even though we had been trying to avoid it. all it got us was more finger pointing, one of our friends tasered and in jail, and one of our friends little brothers stabbed in the hand. FYI we have been attending the aces car show for the past 4 years without incident. they never invited us nor did we ever know that it was by invite only. we just knew (flyers & wom) that there was a car show in our city, we felt safe so we showed up. good times had by all until this year when a different element showed up.

these are people from a particular crew/gang who have no interest in this hobby at all and have harrassed us on a couple of occasions where we managed to keep our cool. as a matter of fact they were placated by the promoters at a car show a few months before at the malones bar in Santa Ana and told to leave if that's the only reason they showed up. those promoters took care of the situation quick

these troublemakers never take cars and as far as i'm aware they don't even own or care for them. one of their relatives or acquaintances is from a car club. this car club was the one blasting the funk, hip-hop, rap, whatever. the ones that had the "cholos" hanging out with them. one of their members held a bottle up to my friend in an attempt to hit him. my point is those “cholos” were the ones that pulled out the knives and got involved with the fight and made it bigger than what it was. i wonder why they got involved? We don’t even know who those guys were.

part of the problem too was that no one got involved to avoid this mess and left it up to us alone. some of us were trying to stop it without anybodies help. I guess it can look like you are fighting when you are trying to pry two guys apart. a couple of the aces tried and we appreciate that. More of you should have done the same to avoid this from even starting or escalating. unfortunately it got out of hand.<O:p</O:p

the problem is these punks lost nothing. we on the other hand are getting the blame while the others are getting away with it. You can try to bans us, but these jokers will just find someone else to fight.

Everybody needs to stop acting like high school girls and stop believing what others are saying and spreading rumors. People have blamed us for fights at events we have never even been to. The sad thing is most of you spreading the rumors are older “men” in your 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s. If there is a problem direct it to us. If you really care many of you know how you can get a hold of us.
We can only do so much and we can not control the actions of others. It seems the best for now will be for us to stay away from certain car shows for a while. We will lay low just to keep you people happy and keep our name out of your mouth, but please take care of the problem before it starts.

If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us or pm me. I am not trying to change anyones mind about us because for many yours is already set no questions asked so be it, but there are always two sides to a story

Shit I even stayed behind to make sure our area was clean and ended cleaning up after some car club next to us who left a mess when there were trash cans nearby

We don't want trouble and have never looked for it despite what some may say or believe. We are just looking to go out, have fun, and meet new people.

Sounds like we better come up with a whole bunch more to balance the above out.

I just rolled the magic 8 ball and it said "the future does not look good".

Hopefully the good thread with the good pictures doesn't end like the good car show. Some really good pictures here. Hoovs did little Elvis take those??

my take on what happened.

You can attend all the car shows and never have any trouble,i do cause i mind my own business, dont act "tough" and dont react to someone who does. Theres an old saying "It Takes Two to Tango". There are plenty of Car clubs in California and most have no trouble at all. This "hobby" isnt about looking tough, being tough, or anything close. If a group wants to act out "West Side Story" then they need to take it somewhere else. All the excuses in the world wont overshadow the fact that someone said something, and someone reacted, thats how it always starts."Discretion is the better part of Valor"

we are NOT a car club, have never claimed to be, and don’t want to be. Cars or not there is always drama so we’ll leave things the way they are. we would appreciate if certain car clubs would stop spreading rumors about us.

Yes we hear it all. In this “tight” community it’s best to watch what we say to others. those who seem to be your “friends” are not always. I guess the truth depends on who you know.

and by the way we did not start a fight we just defended ouselves.

Anyways...

Anyone take a look at the engine in the gray 3w? Kogel heads, H-C mag... Drool! My favorite car at the show.

Cruzr, it was my first time seeing the exhaust on Barb's car in person. Looks great! Love the way the pipe follows the curve of the deuce rail.

Hey all you true dyed in the wool car guys. If your like me I love the cars but do not dig the dipsticks who bring on the problems. Our events are getting ruined and it is getting more difficult to set up car venues and obtain city permits due to an inconsiderate few. Time to take pictures of these bozos and forward them to our friendly PD.

Maybe start a thread with pictures of them and what cars they DO NOT HAVE. In this way we can quickly turn them away at any of our future shows. This is the 3rd time I have seen this and I am fed up with these jerks.

The show was great and the mix of cars was nothing short of phenomenal. Grand Central Art Center did a great job with the artwork. With their support getting the streets closed off for the venue is something we can all appreciate. Something a REAL CAR CLUB would lust for. I just hope the City of Santa Ana and the Art Center will allow another show next year.

We as car guys need to figure out a way to keep our shows fun and safe. We will run out of places to gather if these dipshits continue.

For what its worth.
