We are going on a Hot Rod vacation this year. Hawaii's Big Island has a Rod Run coming up, and we were lucky enough to get to make the trip. Our buddy Warren helped us out on the plans and hospitality. We will be catching the last 4 days of the deal, including 4th of July festivities, and a Luau. The last 3 days will be on the North Shore of Oahu to meet up with some of the other Island Hambers. Here's a few pics of the events to come.

Who else has a Hot Rod vacation planned?

    Later,

My car buds and I have a trip to Pleasanton planned that will take us from SoCal, up hwy 395 along the eastern sierras to the little alpine village of June Lake . The next day we plan to go across the upper part of Yosemite and down into the valley , then out of the park to Angels Camp along hwy 49 for the nite .The next day to Lake Tahoe for dinner at "Garwoods". Next day finds us going to P-town by way of hwy 80 and on to 160 and the Sacramento river delta ,ending up at Danville that evening. A couple of days at GG west coast nats , then across the Golden Gate and down hwy 1 for two days ,stopping in SLO before heading back to Socal. One good part is that one of my good friends from Illinois is coming out to join us . Should be a fun trip !

I'll be spending Memorial Day at a car show here in Japan, then flying to the states in Sep. for the US Nats at Indy. Just got my tix for the finals and they're perfect! I can't wait.

Antigo is only 50 miles north of Iola, just thought I would mention that.

The famdamily and I are going to see some car builder friends and see the Corvette museum in Bowling Green Kentucky over an extended four day weekend. I've lived so close to the museum for a long time, but have never been there.

I sure hope it's not going to be during the same time frame in July that I'm coming to Salina to see YOU.:D

I've stood in that same spot with my '47 Chevy convertible in the background. Did you do another photo with each foot and each hand in a different state at the same time??:D

Neat spot, I have been there with all 3 cars at one time or another.

I just read somewhere that the monument is in the wrong spot by about 100 yards, the new GPS technology confirms that the correct spot is off to the west. I guess they aren't going to change it though.

I'm going on a big adventure, driving a roadster to the LA Roadster show and back. It promises to be the trip of a lifetime for some hot rods kids from the midwest to the hot rod mecca. We'll either kill each other or have the time of our lives (well, option 1 could lead to option 2 for at least one of us if that ends up happening ;) :D).

Plan to camp all the way out and back (with the exception of hoteling it for the show). After the show probably head up the the coast, hopefully stop by and see Vern then head for home. Plan to leave on June the 12th and be home around the 28th. I'm looking for two lanes all the way there and back. Haven't decided whether or not to take Route 66, suggestions?
