    can someone help me? i installed screw in studs on my otherwise stock heads(73 chevy 350) the nut in the center of the stud is in the way of the rocker arm from coming down to reach the valve and pushrod.

    Don't you need to machine down the mounting bosses before you drill/tap for threads.?

    About 3/8" if i remember right, but you might still get the threaded replacement studs that don't have a nut on them.
