I have a few things I would like to say about the speed shop called Limeworks.
I have had the privilege of having two cars now built there. The first one was a 1930 Ford roadster (The Normandy Car) that Steve and the crew built on a 32 frame. I had a 1957 392 Hemi that we put in it. The guys at Limeworks helped me achieved my dream and kept it period correct in the process. Through the build (talking on the phone every day;)) I developed a friendship with the whole gang. We kept in touch, meeting at other events, but the fact is, I live in TX and can’t get out there much. The roadster was built in 2006. I always said, if I could afford to build another car, Limeworks would do it. So here it is 2009 and were at it again. I gave Steve and the gang a real challenge. Build the Ultimate Family Hot rod. I gave them a blown injected 392 hemi to build a 1932 Ford four door around. Once again, Steve and the gang have had to deal with me calling once or twice a day pestering them with questions or design ideas. I got to go out to see it for the first time over this week and I can not tell you how pleased I am. The quality of the workmanship is off the chart. You can not deal with better quality or better people anywhere. I have had things done at other shops before that ether you have to stand on them to get anything done or you end up redoing what you paid them to do your self. You won’t find ether thing here. They are as honest as they come. Trust worthy as can be... And on top of everything else, stand behind what they do. How many shops will do that?? If you ever are blessed enough to be in the situation that ether need a car built or just repaired or simply an honest look to check it out. I strongly give my letter of recommendation to Limeworks speed shop in Whittier Ca. You will leave there with more than a great car or repair. You will leave with a new friend or two.:D

It's nice to buy a rod.
    It's better to build one.

Steve and his crew are the epitome of traditional hot rodding. You could not have chosen a better place for your build.

I seem to remember someone from Limeworks closed their booth temporarily at a Bakersfield show to help my buddy install some recently bought parts on his 29 Sedan. It was HOT that day too.

Been a fan of them ever since.

I hate it when I see this self righteous crap. You know what, some people prefer a car that is a level beyond their personal building skills as well as some people simply dont have the time to build a car due to running a business or work related issues. Often makes me wonder how many people are just jealous of the other guys wallet.

And no, I dont have a shop built car I have one I built. Doesnt make me any better, doesnt make me any worse.

Well I have both self built and shop built. Both are good but I am at an age when every thing hurts so now its a little easier to have the work done and pay for it and have the pleasure in driving it without all the aches and pains that goes with hard work and age.

Whether it is self righteousness, ignorance, or just a temporary lapse of judgement, we would all be better off without this kind of crap.

It takes a shitload of time to build a respectable car, not all folks have the luxury of enough time to build a car, and frankly some folks just DON'T WANT to build a car......

I like building old cars but the truth of the matter is that I have waited all of my life to have the TIME, MONEY, and SKILL to make a complete build on my own.

    Back on subject......

I have to agree Steve is a great guy and his talent is only exceeded by his generosity. He made me feel welcome to scene out here from the moment I met him.

Of course, he's not nearly as kool as Kona!

    Thank you!!
I have built many cars, but sold them all. I run a family business and don't have time anymore to do it my self. Right on the money..

A lot of you that have see the car in person and have made comments of the quality of the paint. I can tell you who have not seen it, it is the best paint job I have seen in many years. I could not feel right to let this continue with out giving the man that did the job credit. He is Bob Cole of Cole Automotive in Long Beach CA. He is just like Steve and the crew. Nice as can be, fair as they come and fast. He did this in about a month (I think). I have another car I built that has been at local painter for the past six years. It will be going to Bob when he and I can do it.:D
