WOW!!!! Relic Stew, B***, & boristheblade ... thanks so much for posting all those pics. I'll try to scrounge up some photos of the aftermarket intakes (multi-carb & injection) I have (or used to have ) ... stay tuned ... In the meantime ... here's a few pics of intakes culled from the Internet:
Is this not one of the A311's? It's Gorgeous! Don't leave us hanging Relic! Where/who/any more info? Thanks!
What the heck is a '54 300? ... Do you mean a 1955 Chrysler C-300 (331ci HEMI)? ... or am I just clueless?
Good question... The Chrysler 300 I don't think was released until 1955 also. What cha' talkin' about Relic??
I saw a Weiand 3x2 WC3D on Ebay awhile back and the seller claimed that there were only 75 of them ever made. Does anyone know how true this is?
It's a '55. Just typing off the top of my head got the wrong year. Could be an A311. It's in a Kurtis Kraft.
This car was at the 2006 Miller Meet at the Milwaukee Mile. Here is the front of the engine, some runs on the track
Horne NOS Cragar 4-71. Blower, I know - but this is a really rare one. Heres another Cragar - I wonder why yours is blank, it doesn't look to have been modified, by I suppose years of use could have hidden any tampering.
This is probably a stupid question, but did anyone make an aluminum single 4bbl high rise before recently? I've seen the hot hemi heads version, but really no old timey looking single carb manifolds, ever.
Not a stupid question at all! I think that due to the use of Hemi engines for flat out drag racing to achieve lowest ET, the demand for street performance was relatively low. Besides, factory 4bbl intakes were available from the factory if the engine was to be used in a street driven car. I'm sure someone dabbled in the design, but I have yet to see a hi-rise aluminum aftermarket 4bbl manifold that is pre-Hot Heads. Just good old supply/demand at work - there simply wasn't enough demand at the time. My $.02
Yes,,more threads like it would be very helpful,,also if any of you have ever been on TheSamba.com they have a great feature that lets you save pages /threads you are reading like a bookmark ,,I think that would be awesome here ,,though not computer savy so don't know how much of a pain that would be might also help save alot of reposts and repeat threads ??
Hey guys thought I might share some pics and learn something. Got this attached to a 1955 331 that I picked up a few months ago thanks to a heads up from a fellow Hamber. It was a good deal on the engine and I was suprised to find this was included with it. and some custom made carb addapters. What a nice supprise! I have been looking for and searching google and the HAMB for some pics and info on it. I see plenty pics of 2x2 Edmunds but not one like this 2x4, no real info. These have been mentioned quite a few times in the text but only in p***ing. No real info on performance, rare-ity (sp) or value or any cool old speed magazine adds for it. Unless it something that should be in a gl*** case or finance my nephews education I would like to run it and find some Edmunds air cleaners and valve covers to match. But I only see 2 brl. air cleaners? probably going to use Obrian Truckers' Valve covers they look like the Edmunds. If you can help with some info great, if not enjoy! I would like to run something like this in my coupe but instead of the injection perhaps use Webers side drafts. I just like how tight the package under the hood. Cunningham was always my favorite but I guess I did not know that it used 1bbl carbs.
Was that the older couple who set it out pretty much as an oddity? I met them several years ago and explained what a "Cunningham" was... they had no idea.
