Got a call from Harrow yesterday afternoon, reminding me about a casting call for the new season of Monster Garage. The entire season's episodes will be filmed in Detroit. We all yakked about it a while ago, we dared each other to go out on the casting call, but nobody ever volunteered...

He went down right after lunch & said the crowds were kinda thin. He figured that there were only about 30-40 people in line. (kinda remarkable given the Detroit economy) He said he did it for a laugh & ended up having a good time there. I finally dragged my sorry ass downtown just before they closed up & there were only 3-4 guys sitting around the room. It took about 5 min to stand in front of a small video camera & answer a few questions.

I'm sure that a lot of HAMBers had the balls to go to downtown Detroit last weekend, but who else did it?

    Hell, I don't even own a TV...

I thought that the show ended when Jesse split, but apparently somebody's trying to revive it. The producers must be trying to cash in in MI's tax rebates to Hollywood.

So this is a casting for Jesse's replacement or just as...contestants(?)...on the show?
If the new host is set already...who IS it????

If you will recall, about a month or two ago, someone started a thread about finding a new host for this very show.

They should hire me to do it, I'm a fucking character and can add plenty of drama to the show for them... Really, I'm serious....

They should have Steve Sellers on. I'd tune in.

  12. I know he's not in Detroit, but I would have to nominate King Chassis (Brian) as the host. You know... Since all the crazy F'rs come out of St. Louis (haha).

Telling FNG's "don't get your panties in a bunch" is a far cry from hosting a tv show, and probably not the kind of "drama" they're looking for.;)

I thought the show was long gone too, does anyone know what channel it's on? I just hope they don't crush anymore old iron just because someone didn't make a deadline, that really used to piss me off.

Can you lower yourself to crush real cool old cars if they do not finish the build on time?

Unless they are doing TWo different car themed programs, the one I've heard about is not a Monster Garage themed program. Stay tuned. Before the end of the summer the HAMB will know exactly whats going on in this arena.

  18. Brain storming session for new episode ideas.

New Writer: How about a vehicle that turns into a wrestling ring...you know..with midgets..or something?

    New Host: That's stupid!

Veteran Writer: We've done it already.

New Writer: How 'bout a vehicle that converts into a skateboard vert ramp.

    New Host: Dumb!

    Vet Writer: We did that.

New Writer: A cop car that is really a donut shop!

    New Host: Now you're talking!

    Vet Writer: Season 2...Episode 2

All: Damn...there are no more doofus ideas we can do!

New Writer: How 'bout we fuck up a '51 Splitwindow Vdub by sticking a 500 HP..

    Vet: Stop!

Oh I'm much worse in person. :D

Hmmm... might have to do something cooler than crush it, maybe drop the failed team off in the hood and make them walk back...

I have to say that I thought it was cool that Jesse walked away from that program. I loved that show, but when they did the crop circle machine, I could tell right then and there that Jesse knew it was over, he just hadn't figured out when to walk away yet.

I'd like to see the show resurrected, hopefully with a slightly different premise:D

I quit watching after it went to the "rainbow" audience,,,,,,,, A hot air balloon Suzuki Samuri? Seriously????? Just showed me some people will do anything for money or fame,,,, no different then grabbing kneepads to keep the job.

  25. There are some cool builds mixed in there... the Texas School for the deaf RPU, the build of Jesse's 'A' Sedan, the Sour Kraut drag bug, the Cadilac build with Starbird and the other legends, the 54 chevy with windfield, starbird etc...

By the way, the old Monster Garage episodes air on the channel " HD Theater" a couple times a week. Very few commercials, and in Hi Def! Better than the other crap that's on TV

If they are going to tape it in Detroit there would be no need to drop the team off anywhere.

  28. Get "Littleman" to host it! He's already been on tv once befor so he knows the crap to expect from producers and camera peaple. And he builds wicked stuff. Or I would do it, seeing as I could use a jobb right now! Heh,heh.

I could host it. I need a job. They could tape it in small town OH. Taxes are cheap here. I know where there are a bunch of empty buildings that could be used. There are a couple of decent junk yards around here to get stuff and some of the farmers leave crap sitting out in the fields to get stuff from.

I just would not crush any cool old cars.

  30. Is it going to be Monster Garage or Monster Surgical Ward? They bring in a team of plastic surgeons to make people look more hideous than anyone thought humanly possible?
