I painted the firewall on my 56 Ford Mainline. This is an important step for me. My first experiment with BC CC. A good looking firewall is always a big deal for me. My plan is to practice on the fenders and hood. If they come out alright, I might get the nerve to try painting the body. It's not show quality but it's good enough for me. Now I can drop the engine in and start making the headers. It's nice to be able to bolt some restored parts onto a shiny surface. Not too shabby for an old fart. No awe inspiring chop job or frame fabrication. Just one of many steps to get this moonshine runner on the road again.
I remember the first paint I ever applied to a car - I re-did the air-cleaner and applied decals !!!! I could not stop myself from opening the hood just to see my work. Your firewall looks great Keep up the great work and good luck. Love those mid fifties rides.
Thanks guys. Yes I guess that had as much to do with this post as anything. After all the broken rusty bolts and rust flakes in the eyes it just feel so damn good to see the detailed parts against a shiny background. Sort of turning a corner and seeing that the destination isn't that far off after all. Having it in my head is one thing...seeing it start to come together is another thing all together.
Tommy,,,like me you have started on a project that is far more involved that the 32 Fords that yo and I have been building,,,not as expensive but a whole lot more parts to deal with. The firewall is looking good! HRP
