I finally found where I had buried these boxes. I have lots of track, all Tyco pro. The JC Penneys paperwork is still the same track by Tyco. My favorite car I've had since I was about 7 is the Dodge D100 with the rear engine and a parachute pack. I've never seen another. The original white slicks can't be used anymore, worn out.
MMMMMMmmmmmmmmm................. good memories! I had that same lap counter, Tycopro track, the blue Lola and the #3 car
dug mine out a few months ago when it was winter, ran them for a few days... it was fun and the memories.
BadBob's slotcar thread is pretty entertaining as well, if ya missed it. Anyone else have the 4-speed shifter controllers? They were blue/white and replaced your hand controllers. We had those, wish I still did.........
I still have some stuff from the '60s and '70s. Wish I still had my Cox Chapparral. Check this place out... http://www.electricdreams.com/Shop/vintage-slot-cars-60s-70s-c-4.html Kurt O.
390merc, can you scan that for me? I missed BadBob's thread, is it on 32nd scale or HO like my stuff?
Ok I went digging it basement and found mine. Or the ones that My mom did not sell in a garage sale when I was in the army. Any way what about a Gremlin.
I love the truck and trailer setup, hadn't seen that one before Luv the Lola and Mark Donahoe racer too!
My grandpa just gave me the slot car that he and my dad built. Not a stocker. My grandpa used to wind the motors and he and my dad would spank everyone...I wish I could find the usb cord for my camera...We used to have a place here in town that had a huge track. Gone now. This is great, thanks for posting!
Cool thread! Wicked collections. A buddy of mine had that AFX Rolls Royce car when we were kids! I dig out my old Tyco set when the grand kids are here in the winter. Of course I'm usually the guy putting the cars back on the track ALL the time, sorta Track Marshall I guess
Nuthin like the smell of Ozone in the morning... Cool. I grew up with both old Aurora, and the later AF/X stuff even the G-PLUS cars, but even kid my favorites were the older ones. The speeds seemed more in scale with the cars, and some of the old "Tuff Ones" could beat the AF/X I had some cool after market accessories like machined aluminum wheels held on with brass nuts, silicone rear tires and o-ring fronts. I bought a bunch of these as a kid and had them about quite a few cars. Dumped the front ends by filing all the front posts on the body, and spaced the rear post to clear the rear tires. My stuff was all traded to my brother, still have it. Great times!
I got a few more than this but this is what's on hand on the computer, currently doing nothing with them though.
No the Car is an old AFX Flamethrower(Originally yellow and blue)that I re-painted to resemble the Gulf Porsche in "LE Mans"
They are AJ's white slicks that I bought for them 20 years ago.Must be a great rubber compound because they never harden or cracked. All I have to do to restore traction is to wipe the tires off with a piece of denim and they are good to go!
DUDE! Sell me the Petty car....PLEASE! I need that Petty car! Serious, if you want to sell it I will make it worth it. Doc.
And a few more. Bodies are a combination of decals, airbrushing & hand paint. The flames on the top one are hand painted. My buddy Marty is pretty good at "gettin' small". Sorry for the multiple posts- if someone can clue me in how to post multiple pics i'll put 'em in one post the next time.
here is a pic of my 4 x 16 foot ho scale track with computer timing and my 36 x 80 in Portable track ( need 2 people to move it ) Paul
