  2. A few pages back, there's a picture of a lighthouse in NC. It's really similar to the ones here along the Great Lakes. I learned this past summer about the lighthouse keepers houses being "spec" houses, all the same (or very similar).
If you are anywhere near a coast, ever, I suggest taking a tour of a lighthouse. As boring as I thought it would be, it was far from.
Thank you to all who put up pictures, they are priceless, and one more reason why the HAMB is the best site on the net, bar none.

  19. Eventhough this thread has cooled, I thought I'd post this photo anyway.
It's another image of Daytona Beach, Florida from the late 50s, maybe early 60s. It's from a post card.

If you look carefully, you'll see some 4 wheeled beauties roamin' the beach. I especially like the turquoise ragtop to the left gettin' ready to park. Check it out.

Sweet, looks to be a mild custom...Ford, maybe.

  21. Great pis. growing up in the '50s these are the women(milfs) I lusted for, kinda that clean wholesome girl next door but when you look at their eyes there is a nasty glint there that makes you fantasize about what she would be like... Wish the women now that are trying to have the '50s look would take a look at these. the only people that I saw in the '50s with tatoos wore bell bottoms and little white caps.
As for no woodies, I think that was more of a '60s thing, they were popular around Hermosa & Redondo Ca. of course nothing like the look today.

Youngsters, young adults, older adults....all ages. I don't think I saw a single morbidly obese person. We've lost something basic...........

I think this is Hampton Beach NH. The Boston & Maine bus was run by the railroad.

Thanks Man, really takes me back, me and my family on the Beach at Port Aransas(which you can still drive on)..as far as no fat people, in 1955 TV was a rarity and people could'nt afford to eat a drive-in hamburger twice-a-day like they do now, planted in front of a TV or computer game..what I need is one of those longboards, I've already got the 46 Ford panel truck..go to Corpus Christi, hang a right on Padre Island where you can drive 65 miles of wilderness and get away!...more great pictures please!

  30. Is this Marilyn!!??!! I'm in love!!!!
