Hey ,53 Olds-heres 1 of your Fav,s I saw last yr. in Charlotte,NC. When I was your age all I did was build models. Your a Kool Kid! I have much to offer this thread But, will someone tell me how to post larger than thumbnail w/out going thru another site? Thx.
Autofocus, your photos just look perfect to me. Once clicked they open up nice large and sharp. Perfect for me, would enjoy seeing more from you.

Stock 1940 Mercury with Ripple disk flipper hubcaps and lowered suspension. And a far from stock 1940 Mercury...
HOW I STARTED MY CUSTOM CAR ALBUM I've always had a love for customs-- from even the lower grades of school. But, I had never seen a real one -- just custom cars in magazines. On a family trip to Canada, I saw this car and thought it was the first real custom I'd seen. I took this photo and from then on I saved all the pictures I took of custom cars. Much later, I found out that it was a 1949 Monarch which was the Canadian Mercury. I was disappointed when I found this out. But, through the years I believe it was still the first custom car I saw -- it was a factory custom car. TwoChops PS I have 280 plus show car pictures on slides. Without have to take out a bank loan --how can I get them copied? ---------------------------------------------
I have not kept up with recent technology, but I know there used to be scanners that had a adapter or something so you could scan negatives. So there has to be something that would scan slides. Standard scanners are extremely inexpensive now and easy to use. Mine can sense the size of the item to be scanned automatically. You just hit one button and that is it. A quick search on AMazon and I found this. It doesn't even need your computer to work. http://www.amazon.com/Imagelab-Nega...f=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1243462901&sr=1-17 Hopefully, some HAMB'ers who have actually done this can chime in.
I had same prob. until I bought an EPSON Perfection 4490 scanner w/slide attachment for $150. Canon makes one. Staples or E-Bay can help you.
Beautiful! Always liked Candy Blue. Unusual choice of side trim but-Works. Tailights fit fine-from? Take me back to the ,60s will ya?
Everyones prob. seen this before. Made every mag on the planet when came out. I shot it in Worcester, MA in ,94. Faded paint by Winfield!! How about that license plate!
...and he only wanted 8grand for it , a pretty good deal for a historic custom... I can only hope the new owner paints it white, finds the skirts for it, and puts the grliie back to the chrome version.
Rik posted a picture of this pickup that I have always loved: ...and it reminded me of a print that I picked up from Gene Winfield when I was at his shop in Mojave a couple years ago. It's was shot at his Tully Road shop in Modesto, CA across the street from where I went to Junior College (MJC) in 1957. Sorry if the picture uploaded is a bit large, as it is a 2-page photo: ...the copper ford pickup seems to be in for some damage repair...notice the gullwing Mercedes at the right edge of the shot... Here's a close up of the Pickup: ...man I love this thread. Todd
I should clarify that the picture was taken in 1957. I wasn't at MJC in 1957, nor did I take the picture...
Mark, wasn't your car featured in Rod & Custom within the last year? As I recall the original owner was involved in the restoration. Cool ride and the color is awesome.
yes it was in rod and cuatom last year. the car was already restored when I bought it. the original owner passed away and I got it from his widow
Holly shit, Ritchie Z's chevy, he worked for Tony Bruskivage when I first saw the Chevy, I saw the car for sale in Delaware back in the early 70's, setting in a gas station, I don't know if hes still alive?? Richie Zogroda. Very nice car. BARRESSE'
Love Moriarity's 55 that is an awesome car. The 56 chevy is a rare 210 hardtop which I like much better than a Belair. My first car was a 1956 Chevy 210 hardtop, jet black with Jimmy Jones skirts..
Hotrod1940-not a 56 but I thought maybe this photo might bring back some old memories for you. TwoChops
